Needed a last minute room and was thrilled we found this one. New and very elegant furnishings and décor. Separate living and kitchen area from the bedroom made it wonderful to let someone sleep and not disturb them. Great grounds. No complaints! Will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: go for the ones with a separate bedroom...some even have private balconies or patios

This hotel was a great find! My teenage daughter & I stayed here from April 22-25th in a Studio Cabana Patio suite, it was a perfect size & the patio was a wonderful extra sitting area, enjoyed every morning sitting outside reading the paper. They have a full breakfast & an evening reception that is a terrific amenity that most hotels in the area don't offer included with your room. I will definitely be back. Miss it already!!

Room Tip: If available, ask for a room with a patio!

A group of us got together and decided a girls' trip was in order! I was in charge of finding an affordable spot, with guaranteed good weather, convenient location, with parking, free WiFi, large enough to accommodate 5 girls, had a pool, and also offered 'condo' style amenities (fridge/microwave etc.) We knew of several 'fancy' hotels in the area that would have been perfect if we were not traveling on a budget. Full Disclosure: I should also include that all 5 of us are kind of snobs when it comes to traveling, so the whole "budget travel" idea was a bit scary! Then - a tripadvisor search lead me to check out the Gainey Suites Hotel.

This place seemed too good to be true! It had a lovely pool, large guest rooms that looked pretty new, but then the whole "free breakfast/cocktail hour/wifi" left me a little scared because it sounded like one of those Comfort Inn style places. Anyway- I read through all of the reviews I could find and decided we should give it a shot. It was 3 nights - what's the worst that could happen?

Wow - am I SO thrilled that we chose to stay at the GSH! We stayed in a 2BR suite (1 king, 2 queens, pull out couch). The beds were awesome, perfectly starched white linens with plenty of pillows and towels. (The pull out couch was awful however... so don't plan on sleeping there.)

The Pool was beautifully maintained (as well as the grounds surrounding it complete with space heaters and fire pit). There were plenty of towels at all times, and never any 'trash' or anything floating around. There is a small bathroom near the pool to use, but it's a single room, and it would get kind of messy at times.

Regarding the 'free cocktail hour and breakfast', again - I was very pleasantly surprised. There was certainly a 'cattle call' feel during breakfast (small room with a HUGE array of breakfast offerings: bagels, toast, pastries, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, juices, etc. but it's a rush - and there are a lot of people loading up their plates to try and take full advantage). We found that going early allowed us to grab our fruit, and a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the area without feeling like we were swamped by kids and greedy breakfast grabbers. The cocktail hour was very nice! While I am not a wine-snob by any means, I also do not like to drink super cheap headache-inducing wine... and this was a pretty good offering! You could also order mixed drinks and there were snacks too. We never ventured in for the snacks because again - tons of people using this as their 'free dinner' so it gets PACKED in the little room, but surprisingly, the outside on the patio never felt crowded... so we were able to enjoy our wine and drinks by the lawn and enjoy the weather!

The front desk staff was nice for the most part - a couple of them seemed bothered by our questions, but for the most part - they were all great. Housekeeping was prompt and brought us towels/blankets etc quickly.

Do not bother trying to get a late checkout. The woman at the front desk looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked her for one.

About 25 minutes from the airport.

Room Tip: We liked being on the first floor, our room faced the parking lot - but we really didn't mind be...

This is a really nice hotel. It's not a luxury resort but it's definitely a few levels better than any chain hotel in the area.

The location is excellent and the property is very clean.

Upon check-in we were upgraded to the next better room which was actually 2 bedrooms and a living room with a full kitchen. We also had a private covered patio overlooking the pool area.

The room was very comfortable and modern.

The hotel had a full bar in the lobby so we were able to order drinks and sit outside and relax.

Right next door is a shopping center with a few very nice places to eat. The only problem is that the complementary afternoon snack at the hotel is so good that you lose your appetite for dinner. The breakfast was pretty decent, also.

I'm glad that we picked this place base don the TA reviews and we would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

We stayed at Gainey Suites from April 19th to the 22nd. This hotel offered just about everything you could want or need in a resort. The room was very spacious and while we did not use the kitchen, it was a very nice to have nonetheless. The room and bathroom were very clean and as an extra bonus the provided toiletries were my favorite scents from Bath and Body Works. The grounds and pool area were very well kept and beautiful. We enjoyed 2 days relaxing by the pool and used one of the cabanas that were set up with a table and chairs. The breakfast and happy hour buffets were excellent as they offered a wide variety of delicious food items. Service was top notch! If I had only one complaint it would be very slow and inconsistent internet service. While we did not need to use it much, when we did we had to wait 5 minutes or more to connect and then would lose connection often. Other than that is was an awesome stay! We will certainly be back!

Room Tip: We chose a courtyard view overlooking the pool area. I think any other rooms looked onto the street...

My son & "new" daughter-in-law, my husband & myself planned their wedding here. Kara Mason, Catering Sales Manager aka "Wedding Planner", met our every need & request. The rooms were great and the wedding venue, decorations, food & service were top notch. The overall cost for a small wedding was reasonable & there was a reduced room rate for all guests. All rooms are suites with very nice kitchen facilities. I would not hesitate to stay here in the future and would also not hesitate to plan further important family events especially if Kara is taking the lead!

Room Tip: Ask for a patio suite or, at least a room on the courtyard.

HavIng recently stayed at the Gainey Suites for the second year running, I am pleased to say that this hotel and all the staff are as good as ever. Rather than them sitting on there high praise they have recieved, They have had improvments to the property, That is a major plus to all there hotel guests. Firstl of all they have introduced an out side bar area,Which is both pleasing on the eye, And of a very practicull nature. You can now sit in comfort out side into the evening enjoying drinks coctails, food and snacks al fresco. they have totally refurbished the pool area, With brand new recliners, gazeebos and chairs with a fire pit. They have completely re tiled the floor area surrounding the pool, In what we call in the uk flagstone., There is also tables chairs and a fire pit one end of the pool and the other has the jacuzzi. There is also extra tables and chairs around the garden area to relax at with your family day or night, we enjoyed a game of cards whilts enjoying a drink from the new bar in the evening. Having witnessed the genral manager taking a good interest in all his guests and there well being day or night, its hardly suprising his staff are so good. I know there are more expensive resort hotels in the scottsdale area, But my advise is keep your dollars in your pocket and stay here, better service better value better all round.
