“Very Good and Amazing Atmosphere”

Table for 4 at on a quiet Tuesday night. Excellent table side tuna tartare, nice touch French fries, and pretty much perfect filets all the way around. Fantastic wine list, although seems to be priced at least at 3x, possibly 4x. Tough to find a good bottle under $150, which is, in my opinion, a really poor management decision. Service was friendly, knowledgable, upbeat and very attentive. Give me less expensive wine options, and I would be here 3-4 times a year.

“Happy hour not so happy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I stayed at the Fairmont and saw a sign advertising happy hour from 5-6pm with several select drinks and apps at reasonable rates. Our bartender was friendly but didn't suggest any happy hour drinks. We ordered a pair of drinks at $16 each...far from the advertised $5. However, the mules were really good. They had a few apps at 50% off. I finshed my first drink and asked about there happy hour drinks. The bartender acted a little snotty and said "ginger ale and tequila" was all that was on happy hour. She seemed kind of put off that I was asking for a happy hour drink. We ordered some potato skins and they were good but nothing to write home about. So for 4 drinks and an app our bill was over $64. Not what I call a happy happy hour.

we ate at two steakhouses on our trip. One was a shanty like location at southern tip of Phoenix and the second was this one. We paid twice as much here for a meal that was half of what we got at the shanty. When the best thing you can say about your $300 meal was "the mashed potatos were the best I've ever had", you cant really say you got your money's worth. The steaks, which are Butter Poached, didnt even have the crispness that comes from fire-grilling them. they just tasted like they sat in butter for a day, which is not a pleasant taste. Our waiter was very nice, though, typical upper end service, gently pushing towards extras, but without being obnoxious about it.

“Awful Experience”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

We stayed at the Fairmont on the 13th of February 2014 and were exhausted after a 2 1/2 ride.
Decided to eat at Bourbon Steak. The concierge said the reservations were wide open, but when we got there they only had room in the cramped bar area. My wife ordered a salad with the dressing on the side and of course it was all over it. I ordered a steak and it tasted like natural gas, I was very hungry but ate only a 1/4 of it. Wayyyy overpriced and definately not worth it.

“Nice Affair”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

4 of us dined New Year's Eve. Menu was a pre-set price for 4 courses. Noticed when we were seated, had the option to leave, but decided to stay. Portions were small, but all very tasty. We had an early seating, a little slow to get our first course, but we enjoyed people watching while we waited. Fashions from blue jeans- the guests left, to black tie made for interesting conversation. Plenty of servers to refill glasses, check on us. The food was presented pretty, arrived as requested and we didn't leave hungry.
