“High Quality Service, Iffy Value”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

We sat outside on a perfect night and the atmosphere was terrific. The service is also exceptional as the server, server assistants, and sommelier all made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Plus, several of the dishes, especially appetizers and specials, are prepared or plated table-side which adds to the experience. For the food, it is very good. While it is hard to say it is better than any of the other top restaurants in Scottsdale, it is at least on par, and sometimes with more creativity. The value is the one downside as it is very expensive, especially the wine which 90% of the wines (of which there is a terrific selection) are over $100, and some are well over. But for a nice night out, it is a great spot.

“Dinner during the TPC”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

High energy atmosphere and noise level. Apps of oysters (small by East coast standards) and a very good Bibb salad. Cowboy steak and filet mignon were very good and the wait staff makes sure that it is cooked to your liking. Two good sides of mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. Average bottle of red wine was $110.

“Average over-all”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

As with the hotel, the staff were great- very attentive and helpful. All people in our party had steak and it was adequate but certainly nothing that stands out especially for the price. The sides were small and very rich with butter so a bit to "fatty" for my taste. Dessert was fine but the apples in my crumble were very hard. I probably would make another choice because it was NOT amazing for the price.

“Good but not Great”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

We ate here twice. Once we visited the bar during happy hour on Dec 21st. The ambience was very nice. The happy hour was good value with $5 items which were very tasty. Service was extremely good.
We also visited on Christmas Day for dinner. They had a Christmas Dinner menu available. We were not offered the family menu as we were just a couple. I would have preferred this menu as it was a bit more traditional and had Prime rib on it. Instead the menu we were given had too much gourmet food on it for our liking so we ended up ordering off of the regular menu. My husband ordered the filet which was prepared to the perfect temperature but is expensive---$52 for a piece of steak. Sides were extra but had shareable portions. I ordered the braised rib with brussel sprouts. The rib was delicious and tender, however the brussells were just leaves that had been very darkly roasted and thus to me were not edible and there were so few it was not really a side dish anyway. They were really just a garnish. When I pointed it out to the manager who dropped by our table--he said that it was what the chef intended. To me it was a culinary experiment gone bad. But still the braised rib was excellent and so much that I could not eat it all. The salads we had were fresh and light. We had a bottle of wine which was also nice and later when we checked the price with our wine app.we found it to be reasonably price without the usual mark up given in most top restaurants.
The service was excellent and attentive.
