We spent 2 nights at Firesky on a AAA discounted rate. The hotel is very nice, with its lobby and pool/garden area being the highlights of the property. You can tell the hotel has restored an older property with the room layout being 5 buildings each 2 stories high. However, I believe they did a good job and even if the layout feels dated, the rooms are brand new and well decorated. We only had breakfast at Taggia and it was excellent (excellent croissants and fresh fruit). Staff was very helpful and smiling. Do not miss the free 'happy hour' wine bar daily between 5-6pm. At night the pool area really looks nice with the flames and the fountains going on. The hotel is really close to downtown Scottsdale with its restaurants and shopping area.
Would stay again and recommend to anyone interested in a cheaper alternative to the uber-expensive resorts elsewhere in the city.

I'm nostalgic for this hotel. My wife and I came here when we first started dating and have been back most years since. The rooms are cool and well remodeled. The pools are fine and simple, not like the mega pools at the other resorts. Nice lobby and decent grounds. They also have a free shuttle to Scottsdale and the Mall.

All and all a 4 star hotel that is centrally located in Scottsdale.

The restaurant is another story. Every year we get mediocre food with pretty sub-par service. Great place to stay, go out for your meals.

Room Tip: Place to stay, not to eat. Pool view rooms are really nice to have. You can sleep with the door op...

The expansive entry and lobby gave off a very relaxing atmosphere upon entering and made the hotel look much larger than it is. We were happily greeted and provided explicite instructions for check-in by the helpful bellmen who later also provided great tips on dining and shuttle services. Our room was small but nicely renovated with a private patio. Rooms were easily accessible from the parking areas around the hotel. The pool area of this place is what makes it special. Two pools - one with a sand beach/zero depth pool and the other with waterfalls. There is a hot tub right off of the main pool and a fire pit where you can make smores with a kit the hotel provides. All of the pool area is surrounded by lush shade trees and there is plenty of seating and loung chairs. The restaurant was very good with reasonable prices. There is a lawn area that can be used for private events as was the case when we were there. This is a nice family resort as well as a romantic get-away place in a great location.

Room Tip: The pool side rooms looked nice, but I imagine that there would be more noise. All rooms have a pri...

This is a beautiful small resort, gorgeous pools, striking lobby, good restaurant, very friendly and helpful front desk. Not really that close to Old Town unless you love to walk in Scottsdale's summer heat and humidity, but if you have a car - drive. The room are nice Spanish modern, comfy beds, lots of costly snacks. We stayed at the beginning of Sept. and got a great AAA rate that made this place a GREAT deal.

Room Tip: Look for AAA rates

Lovely small boutique style resort. The pool area is really pretty. Staff were friendly and helpful with good suggestions of where to go/eat. Love the free wine happy hour between 5-6pm and the coffee/tea set up in the lobby each morning. Close to downtown Scottsdale and minutes from the 'waterfront' where there are many great restaurants. Olive and Ivy was really good. Love the free Cadillac shuttle to downtown. We had a ground floor room that faced the pool direction - I would stay away from the 'outer' rooms that face onto the parking lot. We were thankful we got the room we did. Smallish bathroom but very rustic. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: anything that doesn't face the parkign lot.

Ideally located in the heart of Scottsdale, the FireSky Resort & Spa is a comfortable and pleasant place to stay while visiting and exploring Scottsdale. Location, location, location… this property is within easy walking distance of two multi-screen movie theaters, shopping (Scottsdale Fashion Square), the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, and Old Town Scottsdale with it’s numerous art galleries, cafes and shops. FireSky is a surprising oasis with family-friendly swimming pools (the sandy beach pool is very cool) in a beautiful tropical garden setting. The rooms are well-maintained, large and comfortable, each with a balcony sitting area, perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine.

Speaking of wine… each evening, the hotel hosts a wine social, which is a nice touch. However, the quality of the wine served could stand upgrading, and a little cracker and cheese would be a welcome addition. That said, if the hotel wants to consider upgrading the wine social, it might also want to limit the free wine exclusively to verified hotel guests. What we saw was a wine service table set up in the hotel lobby, where wine was freely given to every one… without question.

Dinner at the on-site restaurant is somewhat pricy, but comparable to better Scottsdale restaurants. It‘s billed as offering “coastal Italian” cuisine… specializing in seafood dishes with Italian sauces and seasonings. At full price, I think the hotel is a bit overpriced. However, discount rates can usually be found by shopping the various booking websites. We recommend and will return to this property.

Quick 1 night stay for business in Scottsdale, seemed like it might be time for a renovation - there was an exercise room and spa on site, beds were comfortable enough though, bikes are available for guest use, the property is spread out so it is more of an apartment type layout than a traditional hotel feel. Would not go out of my way to stay here again - but is was just fine though for a Kimpton.
