I am an atomic history buff and I love that museum! Lots of cool stuff in the store, very polite and knowledgeable staff, and you get to push the big red button!

“We found it!”
Reviewed February 6, 2014

This missile and museum is not advertised very much and we had no idea where it was around Tucson. But we just happened to be going by, and so we stopped. We are glad that we did. Be sure and take the tour, going down into the silo. It also include an informative film about our country's history with missiles keeping peace.

“A Class A Muesum”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

This is the only missile base available for viewing. We took the Top to Bottom tour and if you are interested about the missile base and peace keeping methods used in the Cold War, you must take this tour. It is well worth the money. You will never see anything like it. What makes it extra special is your tour guide. They are all actual Air force workers working at the missile base when it was in operation. Our Guide Chuck had great stories to tell and could answer all your questions. It is a hand on tour and lasts 4 hours. I will never forget this tour.

“Wow! This was a very impressive place!!”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

Even if you're not a huge space and missile fan (I'm not), you will very much like this museum. The docents and the rest of the staff are very knowledgeable, and really bring the history of the missile program alive. We took one of the special tours (with one of the crew who worked at one of the Titan missile sites). Marge was great, and gave us a really good feeling for what it was like as a member of the missile crew.

The place is incredible, and seeing the silo, the missile and the facility (with all the mitigations built in to protect the staff from an actual missile launch) was pretty cool. It was amazing being able to look up inside the silo and see the missile - and imagine what it would've been like if it had launched - none of the Titan missiles ever launched other than in tests, which is a REALLY good thing - otherwise, I wouldn't be around writing this! Being able to look down through the silo door on top of the missile was awe-inspiring too.

We ended up spending about 3 hours here, looking at all the exhibits and learning a lot about the Titan program. We bought a book authored by Chuck Penson (who is on the introductory tour video), and had Chuck sign it, as he was around (thanks!). Great guy, and lots of good info from him as well.

Extremely worth it, and was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

“Dr. Strangelove, where are you?”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

Went with the wife while on vacation to this blast from the past! (The wordplay was irresistible!)
We grew up during the Cold War and missiles were part of our everyday lives. Very, very impressive the whole site and the tour. Well worth the time and money.
