Didn't know it was possible to view an actual missile. Enthuiastic and well informed tour guides. Very reasonable entry fee and a quirky store where you can buy old geiger counters and uranium marbles.

Docent did an excellent job of bringing the missile control room operations to life. Interesting stats and info about the missile and the time they were operational.

If you are a history buff, or just want to know more about what's in your area, do NOT miss the Titan Missile Museum. I have been here a couple of times and am fascinated each time I hear the presentation and see what defenses our country had available. Awfully glad this Titan Missile was saved for educational purposes and not scrubbed when the program ended!!!! Well worth stopping for!

The Titan Missile Museum is out in the desert, of course, so take a bottle of water with you. First there is a talk by one of the docents telling us what we were about to see. Then there was a video which gave us information about the site and the importance of this missile for nuclear deterrence, back in the cold war days. The video takes about 20 minutes and is very enlightening. Then a tour guide had the tall people don their hard hats and we descended 55 fire escape type stairs into the silo. We were shown around the communications and control and everything in between. It was fascinating! At the end you could walk around to the top of the silo (outside) and look down at the missile through a glass dome.

This was very interesting and historical. I recommend everyone to see it. We spent a little over an hour. The tour guide actually worked at one like this. He had a lot of information to share.
