“So try it, you'll like it!”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

We decided to go to Michael's on a Saturday night. When we got there we found that the outdoor seating was all taken, so we ate inside. That was fine. It's a pretty small restaurant and they were very busy, but very pleasant. They realized we had to wait a bit and they acknowledged that - which was nice. We weren't in a hurry.

The menu choices are pretty concise, but adequate. Everything was really good and we plan to go back. Their chicken and pork tacos are great. And there is plenty of flavor. The chips and salsa are really good - especially the salsa. It's hard not to overeat on those items before the main dishes are served. Prices are very reasonable.

It's a great place to take kids if you want to eat outside because there is plenty of room for them to run around. Where else can you find a place to eat where it's fun for the kids to run after they eat - wide open spaces and it won't interfere with the other guests. If you've got a big family, all the better.

“Not real Mexican food”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

We went there on Valentine's day to try this place since is by our house and my wife had read some reviews online about it. We were very disappointed. The location is nice. But the food definitely needs some help, first of all the rice had no flavor, good thing they had a salt shaker on the table. The enchilada sauce was so thin almost like water, the only thing that was decent was the beans. Everything was greasy and overpriced. This was our first and last time there. I'm sorry but I had to say what I think. I hope they get better recipes for enchilada sauce and rice.

“Great neighborhood cafe”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

We live in the area and ate at Michael's Mexican Cafe on a Friday evening and are excited about this neighborhood cafe! This little family-run restaurant has been totally transformed in a great way. New expanded interior, great patio and grassy area for summer evenings. They have room for horses or bikes if you are coming by they nature trail, and the waitress even said we could bring our dog to eat on the patio!
The food was special with the chef/owner's special twist on salsa and his signature sauce for fish tacos. YUM! His salsa has a nice chile bite to it and the tostada and tacos we ordered were pilled with pico de gallo, sauce and cheese. This little place is a total change from the previous restaurant which was not a local favorite. My family hopes this cafe is around for many years to come!
