Grubstake Social Club
Ranked #18 of 25 Restaurants in Quartzsite
Cuisines: American, Bar, Pub
More restaurant details
Restaurant details
Dining options: Dinner, Lunch, Full Bar, Outdoor Seating, Seating, Serves Alcohol, Waitstaff, Wheelchair Accessible
Description: (928) 927-4485 Yes, it says "Social Club" in its name, but the restaurant is open to the public nevertheless. Given the fact that there are few restaurants in Quartzsite - really few businesses in general, to list this restaurant would be very helpful to travelers who need to know of their dining options.

The hamburger could have been used to fill holes in the bottom of cowboy boots. It was dry and very overcooked. I really can't remember when I had "Tater Tots" but I probably did not like them then and these were as bad. Stay home or in your RV, anything you could do would be better

“Fun to visit”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Love the atmsphere here. Staff very friendly & looked after us well. Very busy place so go early if want to eat inside or you ay have to wait for awhile. Also has seating outside under a tarp if prefer. Lots of good choices of food & beer. I had their fish (1 very large pce) & chips, spouse had calamari & fries, 1 friend had scallops & fries & the other had 2 pce fish & fries. Each came with little paper cup of slaw which was good & not too overloaded with dressing. Fries a bit overdone, found them a bit chewy but overall a fun, tasty dining experience with friendly staff.

“Change isn't good”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

We went on a Thursday night before the RV show opens as we love the fish & chips and wanted to avoid the Friday night crowd. There were only 2 servers, the one that waited on us has only been there 3 days. We sat down at 5:20pm, ordered immediately and weren't served until 6:20. Waitress said that they only have 2 deep fryers and are training a new cook. We had to share a fork and waitress said she had to go and wash dirty ones!! The sign outside said this place is under new management, the food is wonderful but unless they get their act together they will not be open very long. And, no more all you can eat fish on Friday nights!!!

“Good Food”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

The Grubstake in Quartzsite, AZ is a great place in this small town for some good food. They have a good menu to choose from. Plenty of beers on tap. The fish and shrimp dishes are really good. The burgers are tremendous. The service is good. During the winter months when the Snowbirds hit town waiting for a table is common. Definitely recommend to anyone coming to town.

“Great food and fun nighttime atmosphere”
Reviewed January 19, 2012

An unexpected treat. The Grubstake is run by an Englishman who is a lot of fun and makes sure everyone is happy. Very good service and huge plates of food. Mixed seafood platter was great; definitely enough for two to share!
