I have been to other Cracker Barrels before, and it is always a mixed bag...I have had good experiences and "just ok" experiences. This one was bad. To start off, they were training a waitress, and apparently we were the guine pigs. The problem was, the trainer was not a good waitress either.
I had the Ribeye. It was super thin and not cooked properly. I ordered medium well, it came medium at best. When I brought it to the "trainer's " attention, she said, "No problem! we have to refire them all the time..." I know she meant well. The only good part was the baked potato and salad that came with the steak. There were great....
The other part of this visit that brings the score down was when they delivered our food. We were still eating our salads. This is a pet peave of mine....What made it worse is that the server bringing the food, rudely asked for us to move some stuff to accomodate our meals. We told her that it would be easier if our salad plates were out of the way. She said, "I'm so sorry." and PUT THEM DOWN ANYWAYS, and walked off without a word. We brought this to the attention of our waitress who said she would be sure and alert the manager. When we spoke to the manager later, no one had spoken to him. He offered an apology and nothing else. My advice....KEEP DRIVING.
