The newly opened Restaurant Maison is a real gem for those who can appreciate fine dining, an interesting French-inspired menu, and deliciously prepared, artfully presented food. Reminiscent of a storefront Paris Bistro, my wife and I found Restaurant Maison to be a refreshing and welcome alternative to the common same-o, same-o dining options around Prescott. However, it might not be the best choice for those who prefer mediocre food, and lots of it. The current 4-course menu offers a limited number of meat, fish and vegetarian options. However, each is prepared to perfection and arrives table-side elegantly plated.
Restaurant Maison is probably best suited to Food Network fans and those who enjoy leisurely, upscale continental-style dinning and can appreciate a chef, manager and service staff with a passion for what they do. My wife and I choose the 3-course menu option, which was $49 each (without drinks). However, we totally enjoyed our meal and felt it was worth every penny. During a break in service, the Executive came out to ask if everything was prepared and presented to our liking. While speaking with him, we learned he trained at the San Francisco School of Culinary Arts and interned at the world-famous French Laundry restaurant. How did Prescott get so lucky?
The restaurant seats about 30 people and offers a full bar and wine selection. They have plans to open a larger space next door in the near future. However, the Manager told us they want to "get it right" before expanding... a wise plan. Reservations are encouraged, and they are happy to accommodate parties or special occasions.
