We posted a review several months ago,..and loved it very much!

Came back in August 2011,...and lake was down 10 feet,...didnt go to boat docks,..went to the "beach access area" and picnic area,..and actually went wading in the lake a little in a sandy area that was under water 3 months ago.

Water was smelly, murky,.and NOT good. When we went to rinse off our water shoes, we saw a sign that said " no wading or swimming in the lake while at low water levels". YIKES!!

So,..while water levels are up, GREAT place to boat and fish,..but be sure to call the Lynx Lake store first and check the lake levels,..or you will get up there and be very disappointed!

Hope this helps!

We had never rented paddle boats before. Asked the two men a couple of questions. Never met such rude men in my life. Will not pay for poor customer service. Won't be back.

We took our family of 4 (including 2 kids aged 4 & 7) for a Saturday afternoon day trip from Phoenix and had a really great time up here.

The lake was absolutely beautiful, very picturesque and since the lake only allows electric boats,...very peaceful. We rented an electric powered row boat from the cafe/marina,..went out on the lake, and really had a good time. And all for $20/hr! Compare that to lake pleasant, where you can't get outta there for less than $300 for a half day,..and this is a nice little getaway. It's a small lake,..but there weren't that many people up there,..dispite the location being so close to Prescott.

We tried panning for gold below the dam, and actually found a few flakes,..kids just thought that was the most fun ever.

We wanted to stay for dinner (heard great reviews of the German cafe), but the wait 30 minutes,.and so we had dinner back in Prescott.

Overall, a wonderful place if you are looking for an outdoorsy, serene, nature-filled place to spend some relaxing fun time!

Great location. Would definitely come back! We were there on a pretty busy weekend, but were lucky to find a great spot close to the lake.

This is a great camping destination.

Its not far from town and easy to get to. Lynx Lake is a small lake with boating engine limits and no swimming. Its perfect to take a small boat out on the lake and do some quiet fishing.

There is a boat rental for lake fishing. The Marina at the lake makes this place special. How many places in Arizona have cheap boat rentals right on the lakeside of a National Park. Its 25 bucks to rent an aluminum boat and take over the lake.

There is gold prospecting, (no dredging) This hobby is not for everyone, but this is one is a unique offering. You can't find many public prospecting areas, and the Lynx Creek area is gorgeous. And there IS gold there. No dredging or equipment, and please fill your holes.

The campsites are topnotch, and include well water. There are rings of sites next to the lake shore with about 6 sites per ring. Each has multiple grills, tables, and large fire rings. Hiking trails lead from all sites.

Its popular, and its first come first serve. Get there early, or go home bummed. 10 bucks a night. Great camping trip!
