This is a charming place, nestled among the pine trees. It is within walking distance to town, but you would never know it. It is clean, comfortable. Mark is a wonderful host. He served delicious breakfasts. We stayed in the San Carlos Room which had its own private patio. We had a fridge stocked with water and flavored creamers.
Thank you, Mark!

The B&B is tucked back from the road among tall pines. My husband and were visiting Prescott with our 2 miniature schnauzers and the bungalow was perfect for us. The bungalow was lovely and beautifully updated with its own porch and patio. The kitchen was very nice with full sized appliances. The patio wasn't fenced, but it was easy enough to keep the dogs on long leashed so they could lounge on the patio. We mostly relaxed on the beautiful patio of the main house because it was cooler. (The air conditioner from the attached bungalow blew hot air onto our porch to make it too hot and noisy during the day.) Mark was an excellent host and served tasty breakfasts. We were within walking distance of the town square so the location was quite convenient. (For the cooler months, the bungalow has a gas fireplace!) We are moving to Prescott but will stay at Gurley Street B&B as we house hunt and when we have guests in town!!!

Room Tip: If you are travelling with a pet, the bungalow is perfect.(The rooms in the main house are not pet-friendly.) In regards to the posts about light at night: As a general reminder: Bring a sleeping mask when you travel. Blackout curtains are generally ugly and so B&B's are not likely to have them. That's my experience anyway since we always stay at B&B's when we travel.

I so enjoyed staying there. In the mornings, before a delicious breakfast, I sat on a comfortable chair on the patio outside my room. The sun shone, birds sang, the breeze ruffled the trees. Aaah. In the evening, I sat in my room for a bit, writing in my travel journal and enjoying the ambience of the flickering fireplace. The host, Mark, is a gracious, thoughtful person. The original art of his friend grace the walls in each room. (She is an artist in Miami.) I highly recommend this as the place to stay in Prescott.

Room Tip: My room was the Lodge room. It was very roomy and has a private patio and a fireplace. (See above.)

Clean, cozy B&B, located close to central Prescott, AZ. Oh, and the best Johnnycakes ever! Don't let the proprietor talk you out of them. They are delicious and will fuel your day.

I saw other reviews that talked about the heat thrown out by the fireplaces. It IS true that they are efficient, so if the heat is too much for you, heat the room & turn nit off.

We stayed here with another couple in December. It's pretty and the rooms a comfortable size. However, fireplaces are gas and throw so much heat they can't be left on except with all windows open. Also, it was impossible to get the room dark enough at night - a lot of light coming from streetlights outside and under doors from lights in common area. Last, we had a family emergency that forced us to leave at 3 in the morning. We settled up with the owner the night before. I was surprised he didn't leave anything for us to have for breakfast before we left - even some bread or a muffin would have been appreciated. Especially since we were the only occupants and our leaving relieved him of having to make breakfast in the morning.
