“Not Fancy but good!”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

This is a small "hole in the wall" place that people literally line up to eat at! My husband had the spicy sherry shrimp, I had the chicken parmesan alfredo, we both loved it! The drink selection is meh, but you can bring your own wine or beer, so its a trade off. If you have a large group, call ahead, seating is very limited.

“Best in the county”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

I've lived here for year and been eating at La Bruzza's for 20 plus years. It's the Best Italian restauant in the county, bar none. Great food, service and enviornment. Gabe and his staff do it right. When it's Italian it's LaBruzza's.

“Friendly but the food was lacking, not the best”
Reviewed November 3, 2011

We liked LaBruzza's from a couple of standpoints and have gone several times. The folks who run it are very friendly and even on a busy night - and most times we visited they were quite busy - they do their best to take good care of their patrons. But the Italian sauces were just not that tasty, not to our tastes anyway. I generally get angel hair pasta or spaghetti and meat sauce, and this reminds me of the old saw - the sauce wasn't very good and there was so little of it. I had a pile of pasta left on my plate at the end, but taking it home was no benefit since there was so little sauce left.

One thing we do like - though you need to know before you go - is that they have a brown bag license. You bring your own wine or beer, which means we can have just what we like and only pay store prices instead of the much higher prices you pay in most restaurants. But we were repeatedly unimpressed with the flavor of the food and have given up on this very friendly place.

“I can see why they're packed!”
Reviewed November 1, 2011

We went to LaBruzza's at 5:15 on a weeknight and the parking lot only had a few spots left (which is usual). We were seated immediately and just as quickly -had water, salad and freshly baked bread.

The salad made Olive Garden's salad look like a cheap imitation; Mixed greens, red onions, olives, etc. What I liked was the "mixed" greens. It definitely looked fresh and didn't look like it was "bagged" salad. The bread was warm, crusty and perfect.

If you are looking for 40 selections and want to pay $20 a plate, go to Olive Garden, otherwise, this place will work well for you. There were about 10 entrees (including specials) maybe more. I had the Chicken Marsala; hubby had the Manicotti; kiddos had tortellini and spaghetti. There were 2 or 3 choices of sauces for their pasta. The Chicken Marsala had great flavor but was a little overdone. Manicotti was okay and the kids ate theirs without argument. The kids meals came with Spumoni or Sherbet, both of which were creamy and good. We declined the dessert as we were STUFFED.
The entrees were about $14-18 per plate and we had heaps of leftovers.

They do not serve alcohol, however they will allow you to bring your own in, which I like better. We got a bottle of Menage a Tois for $8 at Walmart (which is a very good wine and price) and LaBruzza's corked it without charge. Sure beats Olive Garden's $22 charge for the same EXACT wine. You are welcome to bring your beer too.

The atmosphere was very relaxed, quiet, and laid back. Everyone seemed like they were having a wonderful time with family and friends, without the roar of multiple conversations.

The service was EXCELLENT! We never had empty glasses and our server made sure to include our children and make special arrangements for their ice cream (my son wanted chocolate). She made sure to try to dish ONLY the chocolate in the Spumoni.

All in all, we'd go again!

“Refreshingly NOT a chain restaurant”
Reviewed October 27, 2011

Off the beaten path and enjoyed mostly by locals, this restaurant and it's staff serve up endless salad, warm bread, and a great selection of Italian dishes. And you get to top it off with your own bottle of wine brought from home. We look forward to another visit to the Prescott area and to LaBruzza's Ristorante!
