I love this zoo. It' s small, not huge and overwhealming. You can get a up close look at the animals, they are set far away. The best part of the zoo though is that all the animals at the zoo are animals that were injured and not able to return to the wild, confiscated because they were illegally being kept as pets or donated. When we were there we got to see the raccoon that was burned in the Yarnell fire, she has a long way to go, but she is in the perfect place. The staff is always friendly and willing to answer questions and give information. On one visit, a staff member gave us a behind the scenes tour, very cool. The zoo is aleays adding new animals too. This visit they had a baby mule deer, two eagles, a coati, and other new birds. The admission price is great too, priced well for families. They have a playground area for younger kids. If you are in Prescott, come to the zoo, admission helps all the animals.

Just a little drive from downtown Prescott is the Heritage Park Zoo. Can watch rescued animals being fed, including a tiger and porcupine. Has a petting zoo for children. Was able to get a discount by using my Phoenix Zoo membership.

Went to this zoo with my wife and 3 daughters. Excellent experience and I highly recommend it-even worth the drive up from PHX as a day trip. You can actually see the animals as the enclosures are not huge like PHX zoo. Perfect for young children-easy to walk around and it has 2 play areas.

You will smile from ear to ear!! Perfect time for a couple, single or family. Do go here for close-up time with well cared for happy looking animals. There is an area for kids to play near goats, miniature horses and sheep. We were impressed by staff who love the animals! And one zoo keeper got inside with a Coati, a small mammal we never saw before to show us it's unique scent drive and friendly nature. The Coati was happy to mingle with the keeper, while he told us about this cute little creature. We saw black and brown bears, frolicking in water and happened to witness feeding time for the Black bear eating a plank feast. Habitats are natural. There are reptile and tarantula exhibits, eagles, hawks, tamarins, bobcats, mountain lion and javelinas among the animals. We were delighted to see galapegos tortoises! The zoo/sanctuary is solely supported by visitors!! Do spend the morning or afternoon there. So much fun! Vending machines only, so eat before or pack a picnic.

Had a very pleasant visit here. This is a small place. Perfect for a stop on a road trip or for small children. Everything is well kept and the habitats are nicely done, designed to look of natural. Most of this animals were not our for our late morning visit, they must have been taking their afternoon naps already. Staff was friendly. A very nice place to visit,
