Wish we had found this little gem earlier. We had lunch there....the portions were so big, my husband and I split a meal and had plenty. We had the BBQ ribs....best ribs I've ever had! Didn't know ribs could have so much meat and flavor. The cowboy beans were excellent and the chicken tortilla soup was wonderful. Great waiter. VERY reasonably priced too.

The Lone Spur is right across from the Court House on Gurley St. in Prescott, AZ. It is a long, narrow cafe with some tables in the front but most are booths. It is open only for breakfast and lunch every day except Wednesday.

The hostess and waitresses are very friendly and make one feel appreciated. The grilled chicken and mushroom sandwich I had was huge, almost the entire plate and close to half an inch thick with enough french fries to feed two people. A choice of salad or soup is also included. I also had porck chops and eggs for breakfast. Thinking of small pork chops with bone and fat I ordered two. I should not. The pork chops were as very large and very thick, boneless, and devoid of any fat. The sausage gravy had huge chunks of sausage in it and was almost a meal in itself. The eggs were cooked just right and a choice of hashbrowns or country potatoes were included as well as a dish of fried apples. In most restaurants when one asks for tea one gets one tea bag, a cup, and a pitcher of hot water. Here I was offered a basket with about 8 or so tea bags of varioius kinds, green, green decaf, black, herbal, etc., and had plenty of hot water when I needed it.

It has a western theme for decorations and western music is played in the background. All in all it is a wonderful place to eat and one gets a lot for one's money.

I was visiting family in Prescott this past weekend and we went to the Lone Spur Cafe for breakfast. I can't say enough about this restaurant. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcome. The service was excellent and the food even better. You could definitely share an entree. I'm normally a pretty good eater, but I couldn't finish my breakfast. I ordered the cheese omelet which came with toast and fried potatoes. My sister had eggs benedict. Both portions were huge. I'm from the Midwest and got a kick out of seeing the guys dressed in true, cowboy fashion. I highly recommend this restaurant.
