“Exhilarating Hike -- Groom Creek Trail, Spruce Mountain”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

This is a wonderful hike through the Ponderosa pine forest, with spectacular views of Granite Mountain and Chino Valley from the fire lookout at the top of Spruce Mountain. The elevation requires some adjustment, especially during uphill sections of the ascent.

“Trees and Trails”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Miles and miles of trails, from a simple walk of a mile or two to the circle trail that goes for 45 miles around the city. You can hike most of it now and the final few miles that are under construction will be finished this year.

“If you like the outdoors, you'll love this area.”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

I do believe Prescott is a little spoiled. Or maybe I'm just jealous that I don't live there. Drive 10 min or more in each direction and you will find a lake, a trail, camping, all at your finger tips. I couldn't fit in all in. Its October and in the 70's, perfect weather for all your outdoor activities.

“Who needs a gym membership?”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

My friends and I hike every other day. There are so many trails and the scenery is always changing. The forest extends as far as the eye can see, so you need a guide. Get a Forestry map at the desk of the Commerce and visitor center on Goodwin. They don't stock them outside: you have to ask. I also recommend Ron Smith's "Prescott Hiking Book".
There are uphill hikes, flat hikes, shady hikes, sunny hikes, loop trails.

“Prescott, Arizona”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Prescott was the capital of Arizona, at one time and the town is full of interesting shops, antique shops and the huge white courthouse. After spending time looking around the town, a short distance away is the beautiful forest with lots of holiday homes. It's worth the drive up into the forest!
