We ended up staying at the Motor Lodge based on Tripadvisor reviews and couldn't have been happier, or more pleasantly surprised. The owners have taken a 1930s travel motel and made it into an extremely appealing (and comfortable) sort of time capsule lodging. From the chairs on the patio, to the period kitchenette, to the gas fireplace and California King bed, it was the most fun we've had in a long time. Extremely friendly and helpful check-in person (they offer you beer or wine!). Fresh-baked cookies from one of the owners on check-out. Frankly, it's worth a trip to Prescott just to stay at the Motor Lodge.

Bikers’ nirvana although we were the only ones there that night. Real cute place. Easy walk to town and covered parking attached to the room fit both bikes nicely. Bicycles and Tricycles hanging on the wall in most garages and a nice gas fire pit lit after hours and chairs on the office patio. A cute touch was the bread box in our kitchen had an array of bread related literature and a classic Bread CD. The showers are built for tall people.

Room Tip: Easier parking in the two rooms streight up the drive for biger vehicals.

Location: convenient walk or bike ride to town square, one block from Granite Creek Trail, convenience store right next door.

Décor: funky retro, very well done.

Comfort: rooms were very comfortable although not large, plenty of room to put stuff and not trip over it. Lots of electrical outlets. Bathroom is very narrow, but it hardly interfered with a great stay. All the rooms have some sort of outside seating area. We stayed in room #9 which has perhaps the largest deck.

Extras: the free bicycles and welcome beer/wine are a very nice touch.

Really though, the staff at Motor Lodge (owners and employees) were very friendly and accommodating during our stay, which makes a stay anywhere more pleasant.

Stayed here for a night passing through Prescott. We were greeted at check-in with a choice of wine and beers and shown to our room. The room itself was perfect; big, spotless and comfortable. Also gave us a great dinner recommendation. If anyone i knew was even vaguely in the area I would insist that they stay here. Perfect.

This is the moto for this quaint, clean, cozy lodge which is more like a cottage. The small ltd no. of rooms reinforces the theme you are are GUEST. I've traveled the US and have always opted for small, B & B, and/or intimate lodging. This was a spontaneous decision and so pleased with the first night stayed a second. What a gift as it's always booked.

Kim greeted me with a genuine smile, and a choice of wine/bottle of beer along with healthy snacks of nuts, dark chocolate. She also reinforced the theme of BEing a guest in her home! The bed/pillows were the best instilling in me the inquiry to know what type of pillow they used. The linens did not smell of downey, and were soft. . The bath, the small refrig were tasteful with offerings of coffee, hot cocoa and herb tea.

The color scheme, the earthy soft colors, decorate this lodging which was a perfect retreat for this writer...wanting to stay longer! Each unit has it's own outdoor seating pending size of the room.

Room Tip: There are only 12 rooms sizes vary suggestions you MUST book early esp on the weekends all year long...

Remember taking the annual summer road trip in the wood paneled station wagon and after hours of saying "are we there yet?" you arrived at the classic 1970's motel along the side of main street of Small Town USA? This is the place where you used to stay - only BETTER!!!
So cool, comfy and inviting....and so fun! The proprietors are hometown boys (okay, Tempe and Scottsdale but it's the same!) and are as irresistible as the accommodations. Humble, charming.....the cottages oozes yesteryear decor (without the smell). The owner's cat is cute and he will undoubtedly join you as you sip wine on the front deck (highly recommended by the way). Yes, the motel is on the main road, yes the bathroom is a wee tight but the clean, comfortable walk down memory lane is WORTH IT!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are great I'd say - they all face the same courtyard and ours had an awesome be...
