“Great price for the proximity to town”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Clean, super cozy, very cute! Like something a little outside of the hum drum? This it the place. Within walking distance of the square, it's a great deal. We'll definitely stay here the next time we're in Prescott!

As charming as it is eccentric, the Motor Lodge is a perfect reflection of the owners' vision, wit and enthusiasm. The beds are comfortable, the room spacious and quiet and the furnishings unique. The perfect antidote to the cookie-cutter, interstate exit, chain motel. From the beer or wine on check in to the cookies at check out, a great experience. We are very glad we stayed.

This was the best place to stay in the city, walking distance just the right distance to the downtown square. The rooms are clean and well taken care of and had everything we needed. Enjoyed the fire pits outside for an evening drink and the welcome beer and wine was a wonderful reception from the owners. Loved the stay and will be back again soon!

Room Tip: All of the rooms seemed unique but if you like one that has a separate bedroom and kitchenette the A...

This place was so much fun. The staff and the owners treat you great. The atmosphere is fantastic. There is a common area with a fire pit to meet other guests and congregate, We had five couples go together. I highly reccomend the motor lodge. We will be back

Dates of visit: 10.18-19.30212, Room #5.

I would have rated this motel a "5" had it not been for the poor bathroom lighting, strange layout of sink and the front door cheap blinds didn't cover all of the window-exposing the room at night. . Otherwise, for the money and the last minute call for reservations, I was pleased by the accommodations.

Some of the unique touches include: bikes-and tandem bikes available for free anytime, locks provided too. In the parking slots (one for each room) there is turf laid down. If you are into the Rat Pack history, the motif in Room 5 incorporated many of the furnishings of the now defunct Stardust Hotel in Vegas.

The owners were very attentive, friendly and inviting. I will definitely stay here again-but in Room 6 next time.

Room Tip: Room 6 is a really nice one for the price-we toured it and were rather sad we hadn't reserved th...

If you are looking for a marble laden elegant 4 diamond hotel, don't bother. HOWEVER, if you want to step back in time and meet some of the nicest staff in the USA, then go and enjoy the Motor Lodge. KIm was very nice at check in and offered us a glass of wine and a micro brew before showing us the room. As we walked to our room, she gave us some ideas of things to do and places to eat. She was very accommodating. The parking garages for each room are decorated in a fun way with chandeliers for lighting. A very cool touch. The rooms have all kinds of whimsical decorations and artwork. The bed was the best I have ever slept on, NOT KIDDING! The gas fireplace was cozy and provided plenty of heat for an October night in Prescott. We met one of the owners, Joe while we were enjoying a glass of wine on our porch. We chatted a bit and he even showed us a President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan cutout book with clothes that you can put on the paper doll cutouts. Just one of the many cool garage sale finds that he loves. What a hoot! The 5 or 6 little ceramic fruit boy figurines, (Pineapple Boy, etc) on a shelf in the kitchen were so funny and right out of the 40's or 50's. They are planning to add grass or astro turf between the wheel tracks in the garages just to add to that nostalgic feeling. We gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because our bathroom was very small. (They are going to upgrade that room so the bathroom is a bit more comfortable.) We would definitely stay there again. There are very few hotels that can make you smile with their decor. As we checked out we met the other owner, Brian. He was kind enough to give us fresh baked cookies which held us over till we finished the drive to Jerome. The Motor Lodge is tres cool!

We took a spur of the moment trip to Prescott so we could kayak on Watson Lake and explore the town. I never thought the highlight of the trip would be our lodging at The Motor Lodge!! From the moment we registered to the moment we checked out, we were treated as house guests, not as paying customers. The little cottages were comfortable, with front porches to drink our morning coffee, or to sip the beer or wine offered by the management. They made suggestions for dinner, even making reservations for us, and asking us about our dinner afterwards. We kayaked on the lake, then took a bike ride into town. Don't expect high end bikes, but what the heck, we had fun anyway! The bathrooms were small, well, tiny, but it didn't seem to matter. It was fun to sit on the front porch and chat with a nice couple from Paris next door - and discuss our dinner experience with a nice couple from Canada 2 doors down. All in all, a fabulous experience. We will return!!!

Room Tip: As for a room with a porch and a covered garage. The 2 rooms on the end (#5 & #8) do not have p...
