“Sharlot's Arizona History”
Reviewed April 11, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed Sharlot's Museum. The story of this amazing woman is quite fascinating in itself and the museum is organized to show her love of all things Arizona. The newest part of the museum has an excellent video about Sharlot and the rooms there are organized in sections covering the "big bang", dinosaurs, and early peoples. You leave there to step into the Governor's mansion where an excellent docent tells more of the story. The complex is about 3 acres and has many historical buildings moved there from other sites, each with a docent to help you learn more. We were lucky the day we were there as a quilting club was working in one of the buildings and were happy to talk about their beautiful quilts. They proudly showed us the quilt they had just completed that would be used in a lottery for the museum. We spent about 2 1/2 hours in all and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

“NEVER disappointed been here numerous times”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

What a great picture show with impeccable service, and salient seats for one's comfort. Wine/beer is served and have option to take into the theatre. Everyone in this theatre is about customer friendly service. It is a great gift to have a theater of this caliber in Prescott.

“Number One Destination For History Buffs”
Reviewed April 6, 2014 via mobile

Just got back from visiting Prescott on "Spring Break". The first stop was this complex. The old "mansion" gives you a glimpse of the spartan lifestyle of even the politically connected residents of the west. The information and displays are professionally presented. The docents knowledgable. The location is easy to walk. Every visitor needs to visit thus museum and hear the story if Sharlot Hall.

“Great Way to Experience Arizona History”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

This is a hidden gem in downtown Prescott, just a few blocks west of the county courthouse. The museum complex has the first, and only, governor's mansion in Arizona, one of the first schoolhouses, and a number of other exhibits and experiences. You walk away with a great appreciation of Northern Arizona's history, from before the settling of the area to the discovery of gold and the establishment of Fort Whipple, to the great railroad heritage of the area.

When you're in town, take the time and stop by.

“Prescotts Sesquicentennial”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

We visited at the suggestion of Hotel Vendome. We learned a lot! It was nice to have a variety of buildings to walk through at our own pace. Some were empty and we could wander around reading the descriptions, others had friendly, knowledgeable volunteers to show you around, and another had movies to watch. It was a great way to spend the afternoon, I definitely recommend checking it out.
