This is a very historial museum about the Prescott area of days past. If you are in Prescott, or close by and visiting, be sure to take it in.

If you are interested in local history, particularly local Indian history, this is the place to go. There are many original artifacts (pottery, tools, etc), photos, and books to show what early life in the area was like. There are frequently special shows with great exhibits and/or speakers. Prescott is fortunate to have a place such as the Smoki Museum.

We could have stayed longer. I was a little anxious when I read some reviews about "not enought stuff" etc. But I felt it was worth the $10 gamble for my family. (kids were free) we started with the movie, and then toured the grounds hose by house. There was plenty to see! The staff was awesome..every one of them cares about this place and it shows. The displays were well cared for and clean....everything was great. If I find myself in the Prescott area again this will definitely warrant a second trip!

Staff were knowledgeable and eager to share what they knew. Buildings were well preserved and the exhibits were appointed nicely with antiques and other artifacts pertaining to the time period.
