We love visiting Rooster Cogburn, and can't wait for visitors with kids to have an excuse to go there. It's a bargain experience as it only costs $13 for ages 6 and older. You get cups of feed for everything from donkey's, to deer, to goats, to sheep, to rabbits, ducks, canaries and more. They eat out of your hand. It's a ball watching kids run from animal to animal anxious to feed them. After feeding the animals they are a lorikeet feeding area when the colorful birds sit on your arm (and sometimes head) drinking the nectar in your hand. Now they also have a string ray feeding a touching pool.
It's a feel good place, at a reasonable price.
Heck, who needs visitors, just come on out and hang with us for a little! haha We are glad to hear we are stop though for when you do have guests in town. Thank you so much for the 5 star review and we look forward to seeing you agian!
We have been driving past this little gem for a few years as we head between Tucson and Mesa.
It was a fun place to spend a couple of hours. The 13 dollars a person was worth it.
Feeding the deer, ostriches! Goats. Ducks etc. Is a good break from the road for old and young.
It is a good place for kids just please watch them so they are not teasing the animals.
Well its about time you stopped! haha Thank you so much for the great review!
We have been going to this place since they only had ostriches and deers. Wow how they have grown! It’s still the quaint, small experience but with more to see and do. The lorikeets are always fun. Don’t take your lid off the nectar, they will actually fly down and pull it off for you. Get your camera ready cause the birds will land all over your arms and head and it makes for great pics. The stingray bay is worth the extra few bucks. You hold the squid and they eat it should I say suck it from between your fingers. They feel so soft it’s great. The other thing is they don’t avoid you like the ones at Seaworld. They swim right up and seem interested in the food. They also make for cute pics. Lastly all the other animals are fun just can’t keep writing. Something for all ages. If you dare feed the ostriches. Hold your palm very taught and they will peck up the food. They have strong mouths so hold your hand firm and keep the fingers together. I would not recommend having small kids with little fingers do this but as adults or teens it’s fun!!
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences over the years with us. It is awesome people just like you that make us want to do this.
About an hour south of Phoenix on I-10. Not only ostriches, but deer, goats, sheep, rabbits, ducks, lorikeets & sting rays and you get to hand feed them all. Our first visit with family and friends but definitely not our last. Fun for the whole family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a 5 star review! We hope to see you and your family again!
This place was awesome. Feeding the animals was so much fun and the animals looked happy and healthy.
I would definitely stop again when I am in the area.
Thank you for taking the time to share with others your thoughts. We would definitely like to see you on your next stop and who knows - there might be something new!
We're a middle aged couple, and I worried that this might be too "kiddy" for us, but we had a blast. We fed lots of animals, and we especially liked the lorikeet exhibit. You get up close and personal with a flock of gorgeous birds, all vying to get to the little cups of syrup in our hands. We also went on the monster truck ride. A ramp made it easy to get up into the truck, and the ride was fun and informative. Our driver and guide, Gregg, was really good. It's a fun outing.
Thank you so much for the 5 star review! We always say our ranch is fun for all ages, 6 to 106! We hope to see you again real soon =]
