“Who doesn't love to feed animals?!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013

The first part of this experience is all about wandering around feeding donkeys, little deer, goats, ostriches of course, and ducks and friendly lorikeets. This is a lot of fun for children of all ages, as they say.
The big truck ride was something else. It will appear to teens and young folks, but the truth is that it is an uncomfortable dusty ride around the back side of the property traveling less than a mile and not really going into the Sonoran desert. It did stop a couple times to point out and talk about ostriches and their habit, then a little about cactus, but not very much. The finale was going up and down short little desert moguls with a lot of dust and truck fumes. I would have loved 15-30 minute ride through the Sonoran desert with description of this area which is unique in the world...oh well, the grandkids loved it.

“Great time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

I took my 9 & 4 year old today. I was happy to learn the Monster Truck was running. We paid $33 for all three of us to ride the truck, get two lots of food and entrance into the ranch. The monster truck was the highlight of the day. My daughter has not stopped talking about it! The driver (aka " the crazy Alaskan") was fun and informative.
The "ranch" itself was fun (as long as you REALLY like feeding animals). The Lorikeets were firm favorites as were the deer.
My kids loved the gift shop and we came home with 3 ostrich feathers, a soft toy donkey, 1 fresh ostrich egg and a stand. Apparently the eggs are equivalent to 24 chicken eggs and my son wanted the shell to keep so we will be having lots of omelets!
There are no bathrooms as such but they have two very clean porta-potties with hand sanitizer, and they have baby wipes for after you have fed the birds. They do not have a snack bar either but we ate lunch after we left.
We will definitely be back!

“Surprising highlight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

Usually I don't expect much from a roadside stop "petting zoo". This place is a huge exception. Really well put together. Great value -$5 for seeing and feeding a great collection of animals - or bump up to $14 to include the monster truck tour. Worth it either way. One of our highlights on our Tucson visit.

“Fun for all ages!”

We went with kids that range from 2-10 years and there was fun for everyone! We enjoyed the whole experience, from riding the monster truck to hand feeding the animals. A definite visit if your in the area!
