“Hidden little jem”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

A little hidden sandwich shop on the corner of Thomas Road and 15th Avenue in Phoenix makes the best sandwiches you have ever tasted. It's very unassuming, has a broken up concrete corner of a parking lot, but, oh, what a sandwich you can get! The place is completely jammed at lunch time and you may have a problem finding a parking spot and then wait in line with the locals who know where to get a good sandwich, but it's worth it! Nurses from a nearby hospital, firefighters, state employees working close ( and not so close) patiently wait in line for toasted hoagies with all sorts of wonderful stuff you may want. Friendly owners that greet you like a family and almost know what you want to order. My favorite is the Super Sicilian filled with high quality cold cuts on a toasted bun. A must visit!!!

“Best sub sandwich in Phoenix”
Reviewed September 8, 2011

If you can find better bread in town please let me know. The Hero and Super Sicilian are my favorites but everyone has their own tastes.

Gus and his small team have been running this place in the same location since the mid-1970's and our family has eaten there every year since they opened.

It is a small shop with great character. I liked it better before the remodel but I still very much enjoy it. They were nice enough to leave the old tables and chairs which allow the original charm to remain.

Of course you typically come to a place to eat and that is something you get to do for a very reasonable price.
