My husband and I were down for the Nascar race and made a RCI exchange for this property. We were not disappointed, the room layout and ameneties were very nice, and clean. The resort itself if very nice although rooms are a little far from the pool/spa and other services. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The stores are close and convenient and has good freeway access.

Check-in was pleasant & quick, and we appreciated the concierge not wanting pitch a sales pitch. We noticed right away this resort having ‘We strive for 5 star’ and we ‘Go Green’ publications throughout. For starters, we were surprised to find this nice of a large resort on this side of Phoenix. We agree it being close to a lot of conveniences but did not see this much of an advantage between being located on the Northern side of Phoenix/Scottsdale. There is definitely a difference in the ‘curb appeal’ of surrounding neighborhoods! Our 1-bedroom unit turned out to be generously sized with many conveniences. Décor is definitely more dated than other 4 star resorts we stayed in. Some make-shift end tables, improvised cabinet shelves, not very functional dressers, and uncomforatble couch and chairs leave room for improvement. The curtains, especially around the patio door looked fine at first but were right out filthy on their back side. The bathroom set up was nearly an overkill in side and duplication of sink area, and the unit lacked kitchen storage as it appears a former pantry had been converted into the make shift laundry area (doors didn’t close). However, we appreciated having the laundry area!! The most unpleasant experience was that this resort has proven to be VERY noisy. We realized this was a much larger resort than some of the other 4 star resorts we previously stayed. Based on the many coming and goings, we assume this resort also caters extensively to cooperate day guests of surrounding companies. The noise created by housekeeping/maintenance staff with their partially squeaky mini-carts and ‘set on extra load’ walky talkies is no excuse however. It was virtually impossible to get in a quiet sunbath on the private deck or sleep in past 8 AM without any disturbance! Many times the noise lasted until late and started before 7 AM. As for the matter of ‘going green’. We have seen a number of positive efforts but are convenienced these may be just for marketing purposes. Again, there is room for improvements. We have seen water been wasted intensely more than once! Washing down the exterior of a building to wash away beer bottle caps and lint left behind from previous guest, could have easily been done with a broom. A broom would have done fine. Letting the water run into the grass or walkway for some time while one tries to find the right connector for the extension hose is being lazy and NOT energy efficient. We still would award this resort a 3 – 4 Star. Considering the amenities and location, we agree this resort offers a great stay for the executive cooperate traveler. We would NOT recommend this resort to friends who want to experience a relaxing resort experience.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from parking area, you may be luckier getting less noise from the housekeepin...

My husband and I have stayed at Legacy Golf Resort over a half dozen times -- obviously we have had good experiences in the past. We've had a growing disatisfaction with them the last few times -- keep saying we'll find another place to stay for our Phoenix trips, but have kept going back. I think our trip last week was our last visit there. Nothing major wrong, just have had it with the additional charges they have tacked on over the year -- we've stayed in a room overlooking the golf course every trip, yet this year it was a $10 per day upcharge (this was announced at the desk, not when we booked); and a $10 per hour fee for late checkout, when we've asked for and received late check out for no additional charge every other visit. Additionally, it is disappointing to us that there has never been any acknowledgement of our repeat business -- not even a "welcome back." In a day and age when loyalty is rewarded and respected at the grocery store, the gas station, at restaurants and even the dry cleaner, you would think a vacation resort would would at least acknowledge a return customer. I travel on business and consistently get "welcome back" comments when I check into a hotel for a return visit -- also get emails and mailings with offerings to entice me back. So, we will look around and find another location in the Phoenix area that DOES want and respect our repeat business, rather than nickeling and diming us to death. Bummer, because it is a rather nice place to stay, but they're lack of customer service and awareness has just left a really bad taste in our mouths.

Traded into this resort using RCI points. Resort grounds are well maintained. We had a one bedroom suite with a sleeper sofa. Room was comfortable and had a nice layout. It also included many standard amenties (as many timeshares do). Would have loved to have a view of the golf course but those were already taken. Husband played a round of golf and enjoyed the course. My 3 year old enjoyed going to the pool and especially loved the small wading pool. The resort was close to many restaurants and shops and is close to the highway. Staff were helpful. We never felt unsafe at the resort or surrounding area as others suggested. We would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at the legacy Golf resort for months together on many occasions and nevr felt homesick. It's definitely on of the nicest sub $100 hotels I've stayed in. The lovely layout of the suites, set amidst golfing greens and the hills in the backdrop make it a relaxing place. Even the regular suite is quite a roomy studio apartment with a spacious patio. I usually pick the ones overlooking either the pool or the hills. The kitchenette is well equipped and I would cook full fledged meals for myself. The HUGE salted swimming pool is the highlight of the place. Partitioning it into 2 was smart, because it allows the splashers to be on the curvy fun side leaving the swimmers in peace to do laps. The salt water is easy to float in and you can spend hours in the water without smelling like Chlorine. I love this pool in winter. It's kept at a perfect temperature when the ambient is close to freezing. The hot tubs by the the side are lovely too. I found the room service adequate, my room was cleaned well every day. I found the staff to be polite and helpful in general. I never used the gym, though I have peeped in, and it looked good. The movie rental service is decent, but their book collection is inadequate. The only part about this place, that i didn't like was the restaurant. The food is below average (very greasy and cheesy) and the service is abysmal. I found the restaurant staff to be very indifferent. I ate very few times in there, I either cooked or drove outside to good restaurants in Tempe, Chandler or Scottsdale.

Room Tip: View of the hills with the golf course in between is lovely. Or take unit #1 overlooking the pool an...

Room was comfortable, clean and roomy, although furniture had not been updated for a while. We did not have any internet service the whole week so computer or e-reader could not be used. Staff blames AT & T, but it's funny how they had internet service.
Staff knocked on our door 2 mornings at 7:30a.m. and woke us up. We thought that was strange and didn't answer. I guess we should have used our do not disturb sign. Who knew!
Although I felt safe at the resort, the surrounding area was a little undesirable.
Since we are not golfers we used the resort as a home base for other activities we had during our week's stay.
Next time in Phoenix, I will check out the Scottsdale location instead.

Room Tip: When you check in ask of any promotions going on at the resort. If your golfing or with kids ask...
