Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort

This hotel was absolutely gorgeous. I love Hilton's. The waterpark was great, the restaurants were pretty good (I didn't care for Hole-in-the Wall though), and the room had super-comfortable beds. They were as soft as clouds after long days of traveling to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Tuscon, and Prescott. The rooms were large, the hotel had no shortage of pools, and the layout of the hotel was unique. I would definitely stay again, unless I wanted to go Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs instead. Great resort!

Note: I stayed here in July 2007.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floors, casitas are good too!

The place if beautiful and has great mountain views. Many of the restaurants and bars were not open since it was early February, so we had to go offsite to eat a few times. Other than that, everything was great

Stayed at the Pointe Hilton Resort at Squaw Peak for a long weekend. What a great experience. I had heard it was nice but it exceeded my expectations. The rooms are large, the lobby areas are beautiful. We had a business associate visit. He was impressed. The pools are over the top. The "Lazy River" was great. Grandkids visited us and they loved it. I will definitely go back to the beautiful Pointe Resort and excellent staff who catered to us all the way.

Everything was clean, the food was good, the room was comfortable. Yes, all that.

But there were two big issues that I had during my four days there. First, the lighting on the steps shines straight up into your eyes. Try walking before sunrise or after sunset -- it's a challenge. I have two skinned knees and a skinned wrist to prove it. Second, the building numbering system and signage is convoluted -- on purpose. Some people find it a nice little challenge to find their way through a maze. I find it a nuisance when I am tired after a long day and cannot find my room. Don't go if you can't do a million up and down steps -- how did this place avoid the ADA? Too many other choices, I'll not be back.

Thank you for taking the time to review our resort. The positive feedback regarding your accommodations and the food is appreciated. However, I'm truly sorry for the challenges you encountered. We strive to provide our guests a positive and comfortable experience so it's disappointing to know you found our signage complicated, and lighting inadequate. I assure you we will look into these items to ensure clarity and safety. Your observations are valued and it is my hope you will reconsider visiting us again in the future.

Teri Agosta

We stayed at this hotel as part of a conference for business. We had a few hours of free time one afternoon, and we spent it playing in the water park: lazy river, water falls, and a water slide. It was great. Everything at the hotel and the conference was clean, and the staff was helpful when we needed them.

Wanted a "drive to" destination for a few days...and good weather. Wow...we were not disappointed when we pulled up! Front desk checked us in, gave us some great pointers to the resort....very nice! Great first impression! Pulled up to our "casita" which floored us! Casitas get their own car ports too...right at your door. Wow again! Huge living room, half bath, dining room and cute kitchen (not really for cooking...but there was a micro and apt. size frig). Up the stairs you go to the giant outside patio area (you could have a dance party here!) and bedroom with master bath. OK...so on to the pool area which is, again, huge! We happen to luck out on a quiet few days so this entire area was almost deserted. Western touches throughout, cute signage and characters add so much personality to this property. There is a lazy river, water slide, mini golf area, toddler pool...all included in your resort fee. This would be a kids heaven, for sure. Comfortable lounges. Outside this pool area...and within many other areas within the complex are smaller pools and jacuzzis, most likely for adults that would like a quieter area to sit away from the probable loud and kid populated large pool area when busy. That's thoughtful for a resort to afford this extra perk. We ate several times at Rico's....great outside patio and happy hour. Also, enjoyed their breakfast buffet both mornings....which was really good. Made to order eggs or omelettes...and all the accouterments...delicious. Our server, Kim, was a delight. Even the groundsmen greeted us in the morning as we walked by. The staff attitude was fantastic here and makes a difference in the whole experience. We LOVED this resort and hope to be back sooner than later!

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The mountains in the back were easy to hike as well as beautiful. The amenities were great. I would live here if I could. Aunt Chiladas restaurant across the street was the best Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at.
