“Great relaxing hotel”

All three of us stayed here in August 2013, the hotel grounds are beautiful, the staff are very helpful and it was great place to stay for us, as we went to see the Grand Canyon which was about three hours away.

We stayed here for my husband's conference. We arrived around 10:30 in the morning and were so happy a room was ready so that we could go get changed and explore Camelback. We took a cab there but when we were finished the number the cab driver had given us for a pick-up didn't work. The resort called a new cab for us that never arrived so they sent their own shuttle to come pick us up (with cold bottles of water)! What great customer service! We didn't eat at T. Cook's but the lunch we had by the pool was great. The people working at the pool were always attentive and kept everyone's ice water filled. There was even complimentary sunscreen. Our room couldn't have been better. It was a casita with a private entrance, comfortable bed, and beautiful bathroom with a separate tub. We would love to come back to the Royal Palms. It was absolutely beautiful and the customer service could not have been better.

Only spent two night at the Royal Palms. But it really is a special place. Service was great especially the pool service and valets. Beautiful architecture and flowers galore. Not cheap so bring your pocketbook.

Room Tip: Cost $15/night to park your car there and the hotel adds a $30/night service charge.

From the minute you get out of your car here you are treated the best! My husband's office had a work function here and I tagged along. Had a wonderful massage and eucalyptus steam bath in the spa. Enjoyed the bar for cocktails (blackberry mojito) and wine, had wonderful lunches at the pool (salmon BLT and fish tacos) and a very tasty dinner and breakfast at the restaurant (scallops, butternut squash soup, short ribs, sunchoke salad and nut and graham cracker dusted french toast). While at the pool, your water is filled regularly. Every employee you meet from housekeeper, to server to spa employees to front desk staff to bell boys - all very professional and friendly. The grounds are spectacular and the rooms are beautiful and everything is very clean. We loved ending the night with a glass of wine in the courtyard by the fire pit on the comfy cushioned lounges with the fountains going around us. Seriously a gem! Probably not the best place for kids as the pool is small, but a great place for a smaller meeting (my husband's group was 60 partners) or couples. Very close to old town Scottsdale and plenty of dining shopping options nearby as well as pretty close to the airport.

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the courtyard

We stayed 5 nights at the Royal Palms. It's a little oasis in Phoenix with lush grounds, beautiful flowers, palm trees, and rabbits running around. The service was first-rate, especially at the pool and valet. A big thank you to Robert (at the pool) and Michael (at the valet) for taking great care of us and making our stay so great. The hotel is in close proximity to downtown/Old Scottsdale, so it makes going out to dinner very easy.

We stayed in a Valencia casita, which had a nice outdoor patio. The room was large but a bit dark. Sadly, our bathroom did not have a soaking tub (or any tub), it had a nice shower. The floor plan suggested that we had a soaking tub, so if you would like a room with one, then I recommend confirming with the hotel in advance.

The work out room is basic, with only a couple of cardio machines and weights. The room is small and warm. It seemed like an afterthought to build a small facility for guests. Also, they offer very limited classes per day, which is handled by the spa. I tried to take a yoga class while I was there, but the front desk and the spa had different times posted. Also, which was not made known to us, you have to register/sign up for the class in advance. It was a little frustrating to get up early and then to have the spa tell me that because no one showed up, the yoga instructor left, and the front desk tell me that I had the correct time but I needed to sign up.

The spa is nice but small. There is not an attendant in the bathrooms, but it is nicely maintained. I received two services - facial and massage. My facial was nice, and my massage was okay. I requested a deep tissue massage, but it was not that.

Lastly and oddly, the hotel does not offer turn down service unless you ask for it. There is a small sign in your room noting this, but I had not noticed it. I would expect a 5-star hotel to offer this service as part of your stay.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Royal Palms.

Thank you for highlighting how beautiful the resort is and the fantastic service provided by our staff! The Valencia Casitas were recently renovated and now feature a large walk-in shower. We do have additional room categories that offer a deep soaking bathtub so please be sure to discuss all options with our reservations team. We are glad that you were able to experience Alvadora Spa and the fitness center. Please accept my apologies for the miscommunication with the yoga class. The times have been updated in all areas to reflect the complimentary offerings. We are also happy to do turndown service at your request. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future!

Wonderful resort without the expansive size of most modern resorts truly top notch. Lots unique walkways and seating area throughout the resort. The layout of the resort facilities and rooms make for an intimate and private experience. The staff is very attentive, making helpful suggestions that feel like they're really listening to you and your interests.

Room Tip: Try the french toast for breakfast, its better than you'd think.

By far one of the best resorts I have ever stayed in. I was in a casita and everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this resort for couples. The grounds are simply beautiful. It was a magical experience. I will go back for sure. The staff and amenities were top notch and I have stayed in many resorts this one is on my top 5 list. The rooms are costly but you truly get what you pay for here!
