“An absolutely amazing stay that would be difficult to surpass!”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

We returned here for our third stay due to a concert in town. This is a beautiful resort with lush tree lined grounds close to the mountains. The service is truly unparalled. They took care of everything and even surprised us with chocolates left in our room while we were out. The T. Cooks lounge happy hour was amazingly delicious and totally reasonable in price. The room was very nice with all the amenities and an extremely comfortable bed. They even upgraded our room on arrival without even asking. There are absolutely no complaints about this resort at all and we would stay here again without question.

Room Tip: We were upgraded for free to a bungalow which was a nice touch. It had its' own little patio.

Beautiful hotel, quiet and convenient. Service is outstanding. Grounds are beautiful. The Valencia Casita was wonderful and comfortable. The weather was warm for a November trip and the A/C in the room would not maintain the cooler temperatures without several adjustments during the night but that is was minor and everything else was as expected.

We traveled to Arizona for Thanksgiving this year and stayed at a family recommended resort. The resort fee pays all tips and wifi which is a relief. All the staff were wonderful from the gardeners who take excellent care of the gardens to the valets, restaurant staff and maids. It is a convenient location to do sightseeing or visiting the wonderful art districts. Live music played on the weekend and we sat outside, had a drink and listened under the cloudless sky. It was lovely. My only caveat was that it was expensive having food at the pool...a large service charge.
We ate breakfast each morning at Cooks, their award winning restaurant. Most of the time we sat on the patio but the atmosphere inside is warm and inviting also.
Our casitas was quiet near the back of the resort. It was larger than I expected with room enough for a large chair, footstool, desk, chair and a fireplace. The closet had a drawers built in, hanging space, and a safe. There was enough room in the closet for two suitcases so they were out of the way. The bath had been recently remodeled and shower was quite large.
This is a place for weddings, elegant dinners, romantic weekends, not bachelor parties. It seems to draw people from the area to the bar for the music and setting. And also to the excellent restaurant. We would definitely go back.

We fell in love with the place right when we pulled into the motor court. The staff is excellent from the car parkers to the manager. The grounds are lush and well maintained and we loved the winding pathways to the casitas with water features and fireplaces along the way. Upbeat intimate atmosphere in the bar and again great service. The restaurant is 5 star, too. We will never stay anywhere else when we are in Phoenix .

Room Tip: We loved our casita, but next time we want to stay in one of the rooms with a patio and a view of th...

I too fell in love with our property from the moment I pulled into the drive, and that is something we always love to hear. I’m so glad you loved your casita, though if you are looking for a great view of the mountain, I would recommend one of our Spa Terrace rooms or a Montavista Suite. Both will have amazing views and a balcony or patio. Thank you so much for the lovely review and we look forward to welcoming you back again.

The atmosphere of the resort made me feel at home with all of the history and growth of the resort. The gardens were very enjoyable to stroll thru, the layout and room decor was fun to relax in. This trip was for business, now that I have been here I will bring my wife for a relaxing get away, she 'll love it!

This was a delightful change from the large, cold, stark, modern boutique hotels that I've frequented lately. Wonderful staff and a very peaceful environment. Throughout the property, there was a relaxed, spa-like tranquility. I wouldn't recommend it for a guys golf weekend nor a crazy girls weekend, but for a romantic get away, it was perfect! The furnishings and decor are very eclectic but perfectly suited to a Spanish casita. The happy hour prices were a delightful surprise for such a high end resort.

I do love this resort. You will, too, if you visit. It captures the best of the Arizona.
The staff and amenities easily achieve a 5-Star rating, but without the pretense. You're in perfectly refined luxury, while still feeling completely comfortable. The resort has a certain sense of authenticity that leads to a feeling of easiness and comfort. Dining is fine. Amenities are appropriate. Rooms and exterior spaces are exceptional.

Room Tip: You MUST stay in the separate units. (Not sure what they're called.) They have their own porch...
