My husband and I just returned from a trip to Arizona, made GLORIOUS by this gorgeous boutique resort. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with authentic kindness and care. We were whisked from our car, straight to a simple check-in area [complete with delicious iced tea and lemonade] and given a tour of the grounds as we were shown to our room.

All the rooms in this resort are 'casitas.' Basically, you get your own little house with a kitchen, sitting area, big bathroom and lovely bedroom with plenty of storage space and dressers for each person to have their clothes. Turn down service happens nightly and the cleaning crew seems to sneak in and out of there anytime you are gone.

The pool is lovely, and again, the staff is welcoming and remember who you are after meeting you only once. Also, they could gouge you on the prices there, but guess what THEY DONT. [Especially in terms of resort standards]

We also had a couples' massage at the spa which was incredible. Before the massage you can hang in your separate locker rooms which have a eucalyptus steam room that leads to an outdoor jacuzzi and shower, as well as lounge chairs to chill in the sunshine before you have your service. When our awesome massages were complete, we were handed champagne on the way out and instructed to take a quick steam and shower to help pull out the toxins brought up by our massage. Again, the staff was incredible and caring and I love them!

One cool thing about this resort is that they provide an environment where you don't need to feel obligated to tip at every turn [except at the restaurants] by instilling a very reasonable daily resort fee [$28]. This included unlimited valet parking, which was worth it alone!

All of this and I never even mentioned how gorgeous the grounds are. Immaculately kept, thoughtfully designed landscaping surround these historical grounds, and the rooms are lovely as well. This is also a fairly small resort, which is nice because you end up being a part of a nice, intimate community of vacationers. And on our trip, it was 95% adults. We saw one child the whole time we were there. [Not that I don't like children, but it's nice to have some peace on vacation :)

All in all I can't express how enamoured we both were by our stay here. We felt very special, were greeted with smiles and 'hellos' everywhere we went and treated like royalty. It's a great place to go for a romantic getaway, OR to have your wedding! I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms!

Beautiful grounds. Bathrooms could be updated. Had lovely breakfast on the patio. Dinner was good, but we were having a romantic evening next to the window overlooking the grounds while the staff decided to pressure washer the brick pavers - not only noisy but not too romantic! Also a corporate group while we were there which took away from the romantic feeling of the resort.

My husband and I spent a week vacation on this resort and it was way, way beyond our expectations! Everything was tasteful and upscaled, from the Italien gardens with all the colors ( we were there in March), to the pool area where you can just relax and wait for the great flat bread or drinks to be served by your chair. The dinner and breakfast tastes sinfull, and was close to other attractions. Every time we think back on our best vacation this place is first on our list! And don't miss the Yoga classes weekend morning, outdoors, on the terrace and with Camelback Mountain view!!!

Room Tip: Chose a casita closer to pool and follow special offeres direct on resorts website!

We spent 4 night at the wonderful hotel for our 20th Anniversary. We stayed in a Casita that was wonderful and beautiful. There are many beautiful places to stay in the surrounding area but none with the look, feel and charm of the Royal Palms. The property is stunning! the grounds are gorgeous, the service was fantastic, the food spectacular - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Room Tip: The Casitas are fantastic, but I'm sure the lodge rooms are great too!

If you are looking for a place to stay and relax in the Phoenix area, look no more. The Royal Palms is everything you could want. The staff is great! The rooms are fabulous! The Spa is staffed with the most wonderful professionals! And the food is awesome! What else is there?

We celebrated my wife's birthday in one of the Alvadora terrace suites. Room was perfectly appointed with a spectacular view of Camelback Mountain overlooking a terrace with a reflecting pool. This was our second time staying here and once again the stay exceeded our expectations. From the valet to the wait staff ...the employees could not have been more friendly, helpful or sincere. The concierge arranged a romantic dinner for us that was absolutely fantastic ( and reasonable) and also organized a drawn bath with rose petals and champagne waiting in our suite. The location is wonderfully convenient yet when on the property it feels as if you are miles away from everywhere. Looking forward to our 3rd stay there in another 5 years!

Room Tip: Request a view of Camelback mountain.

I traveled to this resort for a 2 day business meeting....stayed in a beautiful unique casita that had a private rear patio overlooking Camelback mountain. What's not to like about this place? I think the only thing you could possibly complain about is the $28 mandatory resort fee, but even that seemed reasonable to me considering there was a no tipping policy, free HS internet and a nice fitness center in return. Considering the over-the-top service, I probably saved money not having to tip all the great people went out of their way to make this a special place.

On top of the superb facilities, there is also a first class restaurant and bar with great food.

I never heard of the Royal Palms prior to this visit, but saw it was the #1 ranked resort in Phoenix -- now I know why! You'll be a convert too once you stay here.
