This hotel has it all. Clean, quiet, friendly staff, nice furnishings, great climate control. Local shuttle and easy access to light rail. Nice restaurant, lovely lobby. Can't name anything that didn't exceed expectations

HUGE bathroom with two doors, one into bedroom and one into living room. Fridge and sink located in living room. Two large flat screens. Couch, coffee table and desk. Closet is located in bathroom which might be weird if there's more than 1-2 people in the room. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice lobby with lots of places to sit. Good breakfast buffet. Within walking distance to many of the financial services and bank buildings. Great free shuttle service within 2-3 mile radius so we had free ride to and from dinner. Definitely will stay again.

Wow! impressive! Did not want to leave...the whole set-up plus the shuttle to and from Chase Field was incredible. I could not believe the price I got for two business suites. The beds were heavenly, I plan on ordering one for my own home. The Peter Thomas Roth personal care amenities..wow again!

Room Tip: Not a bad room in this place

The hotel is clean and nicely designed. A small but adequate gym and bar area. Rooms are large, each room is a suite with a bedroom, living room, nice sized bathroom and two televisions. Midtown phoenix goes to sleep at night so not much to do nearby, but light rail can take you downtown in minutes which isn't much better , but with ballpark and basketball arena downtown some places stay open later. Overall a nice place to spend a night when away on business.

This appears to be a hotel popular with mostly business travelers. I arrived on a Thursday, and departed the following Tuesday, and noticed the hotel was mostly deserted over the weekend, but began to fill back up on Monday.

Pros:
- Conveniently located on the Metro light rail system with easy access to Sky Harbor airport
- Clean, quiet rooms and attentive staff
- Wet bar with microwave and mini-fridge
- Two room suites with separate bedroom and living room with leather couch and side chair. Flat screen TV's in both rooms with nice selection of channels.
- Very comfortable beds
- On-site restaurant with quality food items, but with a fairly limited menu. Had a delicious steak chef's salad my first night there. The restaurant also offers room service.
- Hotel shuttle van available for local trips within a 2-mile radius on a first come first served basis at no charge.

Cons:
- Daily charge for Wi-Fi Internet access
- Daily charge for on-site parking
- No complimentary breakfast unless you are a member of the higher levels of the Hilton Honors program. My silver level did not qualify, so the breakfast buffet cost $11.95.
- Limited number of other restaurants within walking distance, and when the temp is 108° outside, the distance one wants to walk drops quickly
- A bit annoyed that the housekeeping staff started so early on weekend mornings. Had a knock on my door from a housekeeper at 7:30 AM on Sunday morning. But I was already awake and about to leave for work anyway, so no big deal for me.

I prefer the Hilton Homewood Suites business model over the Hilton Suites, especially for stays more than a day or two. Homewood includes free Internet access, free parking, along with complimentary breakfasts and light dinners on week days. But if you don't have a rental car, the Hilton Suites may be a better choice with its location on the Metro rail system.

I recently spent some time in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area, wanting to see sites and points of interest in both cities. This meant two hotels, which was not a problem. When making the decision on which HiltonHHonors property, the Hilton Suites Phoenix was the choice. The main reason for this property is the close proximity to the Metro Light rail line. The Thomas Rd. station is right by the hotel, and will take you into downtown Phoenix, to Sky Harbor, and to the east terminus point in Mesa (with stops in Tempe). I opted not to rent a car this trip and use light rail. It’s dependable and very affordable ($10.50 for a three-day pass).

This is definitely a business-oriented hotel! The entire hotel was not busy including the restaurant and bar. It was very, very quiet which was fine with me!

A nice surprise awaited me at check-in! Apparently my name was selected as the “best guest of the day”! This entitled me to a small bottle of wine and a fruit and cheese plate! Nice touch.

My room was a standard two-room suite with separate living and bedroom areas. The bathroom was spacious and had the new Peter Thomas Roth amenities. I heard that Hilton had just recently switched to these products, and I found them to be quite nice.

The hotel pool is located inside and overlooks the surrounding area, nothing spectacular. I was surprised to find an indoor pool in Phoenix! Adequate fitness center was located in close proximity to the pool, but I did not use it.

The hotel is designed much like an Embassy Suites, with the central atrium and rooms all opening out onto it. My thoughts were, was this once an Embassy Suite reflagged a Hilton Suites?

The one negative comment I have is the outrageous charge to use a computer in the business center! I travel with my iPhone (and had free Wi-Fi as a Gold) and was able to take care of email and airline check-in. You have the option of swiping a credit card for three minutes of free access and were not inclined to swipe a card for “free” access. I find it very interesting that most Hampton Inn’s, Hilton Garden Inn’s and other HiltonHHonors properties offer free computer access in their business centers, while many Hilton’s do not.

As a HiltonHHonors Gold I received coupons for the breakfast buffet. Both mornings the buffet was not available and it was menu service. Luckily my coupons covered the entire cost of my breakfasts. Being a holiday weekend the hotel had very few guests, it probably didn’t pay to have a buffet open.

I did not use the complimentary shuttle as the Metro light rail is just a few steps from the hotel (Thomas Road stop along Central Avenue).

I would highly recommend this hotel for business stays and for leisure stay also. If you don’t have an automobile the light rail can get you to a host of places such as downtown Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa. Great property!
