I do feel safe but after two different stays because of location and price, we will be staying at another location. Had late arrival, went to room and could tell someone was already in this room but not there, thank god. taken to another room and still towel hanging on the back of the door, sink ran slow and toliet ran on if you did not jiggle the handle. This one is just older and need updating but i guess that why it is so cheap compare to others. Then we move to Chandler La Quinta and it is great and normal as they all have been in past.
Hire new staff. Steven on the night shift has no courtesy or concern for guests and is extremely rude. This hotel should really enforce non-smoking rooms because the rooms we stayed in smelled disgusting and were unbearable to sleep in. The rooms need to be cleaned better, and remodeled. Where were the waffle-makers for breakfast? The breakfast was bland and unsatisfying, just awful.
Our experience in this hotel was just awful. When we walked into a smoky, muggy room, Steven at the front desk showed no other concern besides the fact that he knew about the problem - he just kept telling us the hotel was booked, and offered no solution. He even lied to us by saying he'd send some deodorizing spray with the security guard, and never did. When the ladies in the morning said they'd change our room for us, I was relieved, until we got back from our day and found out there were no rooms available, except a handicapped room - didn't they reserve a room for us if we were moving out of another room?
Breakfast was disappointing. Their logo/motto about a sunrise breakfast far surpasses the actuality of the breakfast they offer. There should be at least a waffle maker for something hot besides a bagel. This breakfast really needs to be reconsidered.
The pool was awful, the rooms were awful, the staff is below par, everything about this hotel is just awful. They did give us a discount for our inconveniences, but this stay should have been FREE for the horrible experience we had here.
Perfect for my business needs. Good management. Front desk and housekeeping people very attentive. Really good Mattress and clean (or new) carpeting. Denny's for breakfast. Also had dinner. Not bad. Easy on,easy off for freeway travel.
We stayed at this property the first night of a recent road trip traveling with two dogs. It was our third La Quinta stay (because of their pet friendly policy), and while the property was adequate, it was kinda rundown and in need of a facelift. We checked in late, after 11pm, and if we weren't simply thankful to have arrived safely after driving hours through a monsoon, we may have looked for a nicer place. The kid at the front desk complained about people checking in drunk and without reservations when I noted how busy it was so late at night.
Our room was small, a little on the grimy side, and on the first floor between the ice machine and the dumpster (no interior corridors, only exterior access). But we were only there for about 8 hours. Had it been a longer stay it would have been unpleasant.
On the plus side, it IS right off the highway, and there's a Starbucks right in the parking lot so at least we got good strong coffee and a breakfast sandwich to start our day (the hotel had a free breakfast, but we didn't even look at it). I'm sure there are many better places to stay in Phoenix, even on a budget, even with pets.
