We stayed at this property the first night of a recent road trip traveling with two dogs. It was our third La Quinta stay (because of their pet friendly policy), and while the property was adequate, it was kinda rundown and in need of a facelift. We checked in late, after 11pm, and if we weren't simply thankful to have arrived safely after driving hours through a monsoon, we may have looked for a nicer place. The kid at the front desk complained about people checking in drunk and without reservations when I noted how busy it was so late at night.
Our room was small, a little on the grimy side, and on the first floor between the ice machine and the dumpster (no interior corridors, only exterior access). But we were only there for about 8 hours. Had it been a longer stay it would have been unpleasant.
On the plus side, it IS right off the highway, and there's a Starbucks right in the parking lot so at least we got good strong coffee and a breakfast sandwich to start our day (the hotel had a free breakfast, but we didn't even look at it). I'm sure there are many better places to stay in Phoenix, even on a budget, even with pets.More
