“WOW. This is not your parents Holiday Inn.”

I have never seen a Holiday Inn like this. Fresh and modern lobby. Really nice outdoor fire pits to sit and enjoy a drink. I had a suite and I understand all the rooms are suites. One you have to see. I'll be back.

This former Embassy Suites is now a best-in-class Holiday Inn. It has been completely remodeled from top to bottom and is virtually spotless. Furnishings are modern and extremely comfortable. Probably the best hotel bed I have ever slept in. I love the courtyard with firepits, plenty of seating areas etc. As a business traveler I stay at a lot of hotels along a wide variety of brands. This one sets the bar for all of the rest.

If I had one complaint it would be that there should be rates that include breakfast. It's a lot easier for me to get a $109 hotel room approved than it is a $10+tip breakfast.

After missing my connecting flight back home, I stayed at this Holiday Inn because they were one of the hotels that offered a discount to distressed travelers. It was nice that this hotel was a bright spot in an otherwise miserable travel day. You can't tell how nice the hotel is from the outside. It is only when entering the lobby you will get an idea of how nice it is throughout the hotel. The center couryard has a pool and a couple of fire pits. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and quite clean. It would be nice if the hotel wasn't as close to a pretty busy street, as it can be a bit noisy. The lobby staff seemed to be overwhelmed, especially in the morning. Aside from those couple of bumps, I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel the next time I am in Pheonix.

I like the staff at the front desk and the bar/restaurant. The fitness room is very accommodating. I travel half the year, 2-3, times to Phoenix. I right seldom reviews, usually just for the ones that stick out. This one, because of the staff and the fact that all the rooms are suites, stuck out. There is no a bad room. The pool and spa are nice in the hot summer. The fire lite patio in the cooler times of the year are nice. The bar is usually lively. The breakfast only restaurant is good if you get the menu. The buffet is par. It is very convenient if you are traveling via the airport especially if you have time to return your rental before you go to the airport. It is quicker to have the hotel shuttle pick you up from the rental place and take you to the gate later than for the rental car shuttle to take you to the gate.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly staff...several who chatted with us and welcomed us to the hotel. After speaking with the woman at the check in desk we learned the hotel went thru a major renovation a few years earlier when new management took over. It shows in most locations throughout the hotel. Our stay was split two days once...then we left for another location and returned overnight. Our first room was very spacious and very clean. The bed was comfy and pillows were plenty. Then return visit, we had a much smaller room, while still nice, was much smaller. Both rooms faced the parking lot, which is quite loud at night. We realize it is a very busy intersection however. Our only complaint was the bar area...while the prices of beverages in the bar are not terrible, slightly higher then local bars, the fact that the bartenders measure drinks out in shot glasses seems less then professional. Both nights we stopped in for a cocktail before returning to our room two different bartenders made our "on the rocks" drink the same way. It would be far more professional for them to even pour a metered shot, the measure it out.

We would without a doubt we would return to this hotel when we visit Phoenix again. The pleasant nature of the staff we encountered was reason enough!

Room Tip: Be sure it does not face the front of the hotel

We travel quite a bit - most often for business. Location and convenience are always our top priority, but you also want to stay in a safe location that offers decent amenities. Staying near any airport is always "iffy" at best, so we were a little concerned about a Holiday Inn near Sky Harbor. To our surprise, the suite was renovated and offered comfortable space and sleeping accommodations. The front staff was extremely cordial and assisted with our requests in a timely and efficient manner. Since our visit to the Valley required trips to Payson and Sedona, access to major highways was important. From this centralized location, you can navigate the Phoenix area quickly. That was a huge bonus for us. Since we ate meals offsite, I can't really rate any of the food service. During our stay, it was far too cold to utilize the pool/spa areas, but they were clean and added ambiance to the hotel. Parking was convenient and uneventful - always a positive. This hotel is designed and operated with the business traveler in mind. For the price and location, we would stay here again.

Room Tip: If possible, book or request a suite!

Had to do an Express Priceline bid due to circumstances. Got room for $49.00. Huge suite. No hot breakfast. Shuttle Driver Joe Ford was extremely helpful as we had to run several errands. He shuttled us to where we had to go and offered suggestions as to how to resolve a few problems. Joe also took a member of our party to SkyHarbor Airport the next day. Overall very convienent to airport. Would stay again.
