Hance park is an enjoyable place to spend an afternoon. Centrally located in downtown Phoenix, it has foot access to the Phoenix Main Library, the Phoenix Art Museum, and our personal favorite, the Irish Cultural Center, where the only Book of Kells in America is housed. There is a modest playground with restroom facilities located directly adjacent to it, and plenty of room to run or meander along the footpath. It is also home to the Japanese Friendship Garden, and is set atop the US 10 freeway. We recommend it for a respite from the tourist's hectic day, and if you do make it a stop, maybe we'll see you there!
