This place was amazing. Located right in downtown, we nearly missed it. There is not a lot of signage, so make sure you look for it. It is certainly worth the time. Really cool historical look at the early days of the Wells Fargo stage coach and the passengers and gold they hauled. If you love history, you will love this place.

We were in Phoenix for something else and happened upon this museum. It's free and has many displays. They provide a free audio tour of all the exhibits. My wife and I found it fascinating and well worth the 1.5 hours we spent there. You can spend more or less time as you tour at your leisure.

This museum is a gem. It is full of interesting history of Wells Fargo including short films and actual artifacts from the "old West". Having been to the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, PA and old enough to remember the book picture plates of N.C. Wyeth, we came to the museum to see Wyeth's paintings of the West which were on exhibit. This history museum is a gem!

The Wells Fargo museum is a worth while stop to see how the company once operated. It's nice to see the pictures, strong boxes, wagons, and memorabilia of days gone by.
It is a free museum so no excuse not to make a stop.

Its not big, its free and it has plenty of excellent historic information if you love learning about the west and how it was opened up in the 1800's. All on one level and could take between 30 minutes to an hour if you read all the information plaques. Good for young and old alike and just down the block from the Orpheum Theatre a great old building. The Museum is on the downtown tram system and even has an actual 1868 stagecoach and a fantastic display of guns used by Wells Fargo and the cowboys of past years.
