“Best Italian in Phoenix...Hands Down!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

Been coming to Michelinas for close to 25 years. It is consistently good, Michelina comes out each night goes from table to table welcoming you and thanking you for coming. The Osso Bucco is the best I have had any where. She has large vases filled with flowers all over the restaurant. White table cloths and a wait staff that has been with her since we have been eating there.
Watch for her wine pairing dinners...they are amazing. Try her oysters ... OMG they are one of our favorites! Wine selection is excellent, you won't be disappointed.

“Wonderful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

This is a chef-owned and run small but lovely place: fresh flowers, white tablecloths, long-time staff and excellent food. Come hungry.

“Italian Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

Our first visit to Michelina's with two other couples. We were promptly seated for our 5:30 reservation. There are approximately 20 tables on two levels. White table cloths, mirrors providing a open ambience with wine bottles in small alcoves along the wall. Our dinners consisted of NY Steak, Scallops and Shrimp, Eggplant Parmigianna, Chef's Shrimp special. Both couples enjoyed their entrees. They indicated that they were flavorful and cooked well. Our wait person, with 28 years of experience with Chef Michelina, handles the entire restaurant. He was competent and professiona. However, as the evening progressed, he was literally running through the restaurant. One of the couples that we were with had dined previously and they indicated that there was also only the same lone waiter on this occasion. We found this to be unusual with service lacking at certain times during the evening. I had Veal Marsala. It was excellent. Thinly sliced with a delicious marsala sauce accompanied by a side of pasta. My wife ordered the Escolar seafood special. It was slightly undercooked but retained a fresh flavor. Many of us enjoyed dessert. We had Tiramisu. It was moist and flavorful. Others had a Lemon cheesecake. Also, very good. Our dinners were very good and we would return. Again, the area for improvement would be service staff and the Escolar.

“Always Worth Visiting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

We were turned on to Michelina's 15 years ago by a concierge at a hotel we were staying at in Phoenix / Scottsdale. Visited then with our kids. The restaurant is at the corner of Shea and the 51 in a very non-descript shopping mall. But, inside the food / service has always been great. So much so, that we look forward to visiting every time we travel to the area. Great Italian food, good wine, and always like the licorice after-dinner drink (complimentary). Salad with meals is great as well. Will go back next time we're in the area!

Even if we didn't live just a few blocks from Michelina's terrific restaurant we would make the drive because it's definitely worth it.
Charming, friendly and really yummie food.
