My husband and I and our two adult kids ate at the Stockyards on a Friday evening. The decor is understated and western in feel. This is not a "glitzy" or "trendy" steakhouse, but it is charming and relaxed. Our reservation was waiting for us and we had a very nice waiter. We all ordered steaks, my daughter and I wanted to spilt a steak dinner, which the kitchen did nicely with no complaints and no extra charge. All our steaks were good, and the meals come with a side, unlike a lot of the higher priced steakhouses. Overall a very nice meal. The restaurant is a bit out of the way in a quiet area but worth checking out.

Best steak I've ever had. Service was very good as well. Casual atmosphere. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in the area. We took my son and nephew who live in Scottsdale and never been there. They both said it was a very good meal- they would definitely go again

Wonderfully prepared entrees in a classic setting. This has to be a must on your next visit to the Phoenix area. A local favorite for lunch too.

My wife and I were returning to the UK after a week long visit to Tucson and wanted one last taste of the West. Stockyards delivered more than we had expected. There was food for the body and food for the mind.

The array of highest quality beef and wild game offerings was extensive meeting the needs of those with varying appetites and palates - tender, juicy, cooked exactly as requested. The wine list favoured west coast vineyards and met all price points; local brewers had representation.
The salads were fresh, crisp and chilled. The mains were prepared with dispatch and were seasoned perfectly. We spent $150 including a mid range bottle of pinot.

The servers were smartly dressed and very friendly. I wanted to purchase a bolo tie from one of them with the famous 'walking L' brand owned by the Tovrea family who started the dining room in the late 1940s. My offer was refused but effort was made to see one was available 'in the back'. Steven went out of his way to help locate a personal but 65 year old point of interest in Phoenix.

The interior has been splendidly and recently carefully restored to original condition. The hallway to the bar is adorned with historic photos of the original stockyards and feedlots from whence the restaurant got its name. Colourful vintage murals depicting images of days gone by suggest nostalgic owners place a high value on the built environment.

We met Gary, the gentleman proprietor on our departure. He gave us a briefing of the premises' 'bragging features' including the antique hand carved mahogany bar and the famous stained glass window as well as the 'cowboy legends' whose framed biographies and pictures line the entranceway.

Food for the body and mind.

The location is ideal for anyone staying near Sky Harbour Airport.

Very Nice but i would consder it overpriced for what you get. Very nice place for bussiness dinner but i dont think this place would be on my list for a family dinner. Prime Rib was cooked correctly and a very reasonable portion for the 12oz cut.
