“Visiting for close to 40 years”

I have been going to the Camelback location since high school, it was part of the Berridge nursery. The sandwiches have not changed, the staff is great, when ever I am in Phoenix it is on my list. One of the previous reviews talk about the wait. I've waited maybe 10 minutes, and can either wander the store or get a table and read the newspaper.

Thanks DnD!

Duck & Decanter has the best picnic boxes! An old Phoenix tradition with great food and tons of great gift items and food items!

“Fresh and family-operated”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

Duck & Decanter has a homey atmosphere, a fun giftshop, live music sometimes, an awesome patio, a wine bar, and is owned by a very nice family. The food is delicious and the service is excellent- what's not to love?

“GREAT SANDWICHES BUT ALWAYS A LONG WAIT”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

The 'regulars' who eat at the Duck (including me for decades) know that phone order is the way to go. For some reason, despite being in business more than 30 years, it still takes the place 20 minutes to make a sandwich. My theory is that they do it deliberately hoping that you will wander around and spend money in their grossly overpriced retail section. But, if you don't mind waiting that long for your sandwich after likely waiting in line for awhile during the peak hours, enjoy. Otherwise order by phone. My favorite sandwhich has always been the pita pocket --- an interesting creation with meat, cheese, coleslaw and pinions. It is delicious!!

“A Cut Above”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This is on the basis of one sandwich and one trip, but Duck and Decanter is a place I'd go back to. First, very friendly. They have their own system for ordering sandwiches but were happy to walk you though it and make suggestions. The inside isn't just a sandwich deli, it's a whole gift shop and full of cool food-related stuff. The tuna sandwich I had was fantastic. What else can you say about a tuna sandwich? Just very well done. Sat outside underneath the big shade tree and enjoyed a hot Phoenix afternoon. Hard to find, back in a corner of a big parking lot. But definitely worth it.
