Traveling to the phoenix area and looking for a great mexican restaurant close to the airport, and Bario Cafe came to the top of the list on review sites. it's a hard restaurant to find as it is an assuming green building on a main road in a commercial, not upscale area. The atmosphere is small and pleasant, no frills. Our waiter who was friendly but arrogant. He talked us into getting the very popular guacomole that he made at the table. had it not had so many ingredients, it would have tasted better. Who wants jalapenos and pomagranate in their guac? Sangria is $12 a glass and it is the sugary, sweetest blecchh...nothing like typical sangria. The meals are not traditional mexican. I had shrimp and feta cheese tortillas, husband had beef tortillas with several other uncommon ingredients mixed in, same with our teenage son. Food was good, nothing spectacular or worth the high price, I would not go here again as there are way too many other mexican restaurants in the same area.
