Red leather booths, soft jazz, heavy handed drinks, staff with experience and taste. This is Rat Pack Phoenix. You enter thru the spotless kitchen. If you can force yourself by the wonderful smells, you'll enter the dining area - but you won't stop there - it's full. You'll have to suffer in the bar for a fabulous drink or two and mingle with some of Phoenix's Phinest. At last you'll be seated to enjoy the best Beef and Seafood that an inland desert setting can fly in. Durant's is a Phoenix classic - been around for more than 60 years. It's still "a gas"!

The food is wonderful and it has that old time upscale dinner club feel. Nice for a romantic dinner yet you can dress somewhat casual. No suit coats required yet it wouldn't be out of place to see one.

This is one of the finest places to dine in central Phoenix. This is in a class by itself-it's like being transported to a fine restaurant in Las Vergas in the 1970s. Red Leather Banquettes, perfectly prepared cocktails, a fabulous, classic menu and impecable service. A tad pricey, but worth every cent and you enter in the back, through the kitchen.

For a relatively "new" city (by standards of other parts of the U.S. and Europe), Phoenix has few restaurants with any real history. But Durant's is one of the few. Those 'in the know', enter through the kitchen to be greeted by the chefs and smelling the scents of grilling beef. Relish trays are still served at dinner. Martinis and margaritas are rated as superb by those who like those cocktails. Steaks are great (and pricey), but the seafood ought not be overlooked by the non-carnivores. Eating at the bar from the appetizer menu is also fun. The bread drenched with garlic butter is obscenely delicious! Desserts are amazing. . .everything is homemade on premises I was told except for the ice cream!

This is a place where many of the wait and bar staff have been working for a decade or longer.

The restaurant's dark interior with padded burgundy booths, flocked wallpaper, and massive REAL vases of flowers throughout all rooms has been consistently the same for decades. Regulars and first-timers alike always adore Durant's!!

Durant's is a long time Phoenix Landmark, where you can dine on exceptional Steakhouse food-fare and imagine that Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin might walk up to your table at any moment. A classic steakhouse with burgandy leather booths, waiters dressed more formally than anyone in Phoenix and top quality beef dishes and other side dishes on the menu. Lots of Arizona history has been made over lunch or dinner at Durants. A dining experience for the movers and shakers of Phoenix and Arizona.
