“Scary on the outside and yummy on the inside”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

When walking up to the place it looks like a total dive from the outside. but upon entering it was a very nice restaurant, the nicest in the area that I have found so far. A little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for, and I got an excellent prime rib and dirty goose martini, and don't forget the chocolate indulgence cake....OMG... It was sooooo good!!!!!!! I will be back the next time I am in town.

Nice meal with family. Great atmosphere that brings back memories. Nice food but nothing to rave about. Great service. Very romantic and relaxing. Lunch or dinner. Need reservations for dinner.

“Not what it used to be!”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

We have been going to Durant's for over 20 years. No problems until now. I know it has always been pricey, but then you got what you paid for. NOT ANYMORE. Since our last trip less than 6 months ago the prices have gone up anywhere from $5-$10 per entree. Same thing, same menu but not same quality. Same garlic bread, same relish tray' Some steaks are gone and others lack taste and tenderness. They serve the same thing all the time. They used to have Bisque now it's just "crappy mexican tortilla soup".
Dinners were warn to say the least. I guess they are so busy food sits in the kitchen now. Oh well I guess thats good for them. Oh and don't look for anything new on the desert menu same old everyting is $9. Come on Durants at least try one thing new once in a while. 3 adults no drinks bill was over $150.00 without tip. Say goodbye Grace!

There is place has been in downtown forever. Very vintage...great martinis and it is like stepping back into time. Service is good and steaks are excellent. (Best blue cheese in town)

“Great place for a steak”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

This was the restaurant everyone in Phoenix seemed to recommend...which always sets the bar high! It did not disappoint. Although a taxi ride from our hotel means you are dropped off at the back of the restaurant, walking in through the kitchen was actaully quite fun, seeing everyone hard at work. And any restaurant that likes to show off its kitchen is normally good. I wanted a cajun steak, having had one on a previous trip to Phoenix way back. Although not on the menu it was not a problem for the helpful waiter. Colleagues had simpler steaks but we were all impressed. Although the bill was a bit expensive, it is the only meal I will remember from the trip in years to come!
