My family and I went to T. Cooks for the first time on a friend’s recommendation. We visited during Spring Break (in March) so figured that the restaurant would be very busy. We were delightfully surprised to find that it wasn’t crowded and sat on the patio, which has a beautiful view of the courtyard and gardens. The ambiance in not only the entire hotel, but the restaurant and outdoor courtyard, is really one of the best settings we have dined in. Was absolutely beautiful.

Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. Hands down the best meal we had on our trip to Phoenix. Our waiter, Robert, was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the menu (which they had recently changed), and was able to give us some great advice on selections. Everything we had there was excellent, especially the scallops and the black cod. The sorbets for desert (salted caramel) were unreal.

While clearly not an inexpensive restaurant, it’s well worth the money. We will certainly be back to this establishment as the food, service, and the décor (both restaurant and the hotel) were wonderful.

We have eaten at T. Cooks 6 or 7 times now. It's always been wonderful, particularly because of the incredible romantic atmosphere generated by the hacienda architecture, gardens and lighting. The menu is more old style but with fresh takes on classics; my halibut was perfectly cooked. A crisp golden brown micro crust with flaky, white, tender and moist fish beneath. Melt in your mouth. A filet of beef was also done to perfection, and flavorful. The service is elegant, classical and graceful with friendly but unobtrusive professional staff. On a warm night the outside patio is intimate and sits by a lawn ringed by palms and flowers and covered in bougainvilla - try to make your reservation there. If you do sit inside the atmosphere is warm and lovely and the tables and seating are generous and not crowded against each other. Finish the evening sitting in the cozy nook by the outdoor fireplace or in the bar which has a great atmosphere and on the night we were there, a very good trio and a singer.

This restaurant is set in the surroundings of the luxurious Royal Palms Resort and Spa in downtown Phoenix. The whole place is old Spanish style and has a wonderful ambiance, right down to the cobblestone driveway leading up to the entryway. Very romantic and picturesque. You can eat outside or inside depending on your preferences. The menu is not huge (which we like) but sufficiently filled with wonderful entrees for every taste, from steak, to lamb, to poultry, to seafood. Prices are somewhat high, but this is a high end restaurant, and you are getting what you pay for. The food is outstanding both in taste and presentation. We had a table of 6 and the service was wonderfully attentive and friendly. Six different entrees, and everyone exclaimed over the quality. We would all definitely go back.

Several years ago, I celebrated my birthday at T. Cook's for dinner. This year, a friend took me there for lunch. I liked that even better. With perfect Phoenix spring weather, we ate outside. Service and food were excellent. Afterwards, we walked the lovely hotel with its gardens and old Phoenix atmosphere. What a very special place!

Having had dinner here on several occasions, we decided to give it a try for lunch. We knew there was a new chef and new menu since we had last visited. While the setting and resort are one of the most beautiful in the valley, we were a little disappointed in the food quality. I would have always given every category a 5 previously, but this time it dropped to a 4. There were 3 of us dining for lunch - I had a salad with tomatoes that were not ripe, and my two companions both had sandwiches and both said they were only average. I am still giving the overall experience a 'very good' rating mostly because of the ambiance and service. Hopefully with time the food will also reach this rating. And dining on the patio at this time of year is a wonderful experience.
