Stayed one night after driving back from Las Vegas. Book a suite with their last minute deal offer but were more than pleasantly surprised to find it was a corner suite with views and a free bottle
of wine was included in the price. Everything we've come to expect from a Kimpton: clean, well appointed rooms, excellent staff etc. Would highly recommend. However, on the way out the Cityscape parking attendant wanted to charge $27 for 1 day's parking! We told him we were at
the hotel and he looked for some sort of code that would presumably reduce that to the $12 we expected ... he didn't find it so just raised the barrier anyway ;-)

Room Tip: Upgrade to a corner room or city view.

I'm a Kimpton junkie. As an Inner Circle member, I get treated like gold in a very personal way. They just do the boutique hotel thing the best out of anyone for all their guests.

They put me in a GORGEOUS suite. The furniture was so unique and lovely. And the glassed enclosed shower with the two person crisp white porcelain tub the size of a NY kitchen? WOW. No really, WOW.

You can cover the whole of Phoenix in two days and the Palomar is right in the center of it all. The Blue Hound restaurant bar was high end, sleek, and warm. Right outside its windows was a beautiful Christmas tree that was so huge it made me feel like a Who in Whoville. Next to it a temporary ice skating rink there for the holidays. Picture perfect dining and drinking! Don't let the check-in area fool you. The second floor is the large and comfortable lounge area where the restaurant is and the third floor is the huge pool/bar/dining area overlooking everything. I just wasn't expecting it to be as sleek as it was, but that's the word for it. Arizona sleek.

You can bike the whole city its so small and concentrated so do make use of their gratis bike use. Make sure you hit Roosevelt Street. Really funky and the good kinda weird. Historic buildings there as well. Nice mix. Most interesting area by far other than where the hotel itself is.

The staff as always were lovely and professional. All of them. Really. The 2 servers at the Blue Hound, one man and one woman working behind the bar where I ate both nights were far less so. Zero personality and made you feel like you were tolerated not welcomed. I didn't care. I had that tub and my goldfish to go back to.

HIGHLY recomend.

I love it!!! You know we surprise many first timers to Phoenix. We have so much to do and offer in downtown. Palomar was just the icing on the cake.
Thanks for the comments about our bartenders. You can be assured I will share your comments in hopes of avoiding that experience with our next guest.

Come and visit us again soon.

The hotel is super modern and contemporary. I did self parking so it was a little confusing figuring out the right elevator to the hotel and floor. If you self park, the retail elevator is the right one to the hotel. There is a sign in the elevator that gives you the floor of the hotel. Let the front desk know that you self parked and they will give something to hang over your dash/you tear one of the tickets off to get out of the garage.

The check in was quick and I got an upgrade. I love the free wifi and $10 raid the bar with the Kimpton Intouch membership. The room was simply decorated with a little funky design. It was very spacious and faced the Cityscape courtyard. You are in close walking distance to the Gold's gym, ice skating rink and multiple restaurants. It was a few blocks away from the office that I was working out of for a few days. I will definitely stay here again.

On Dec. 13th, I invited 3 other couples to embark on a weekend of fun at Cityscape in downtown Phoenix. We would play a poker game by visiting 5 establishments and each person would get a card at each venue. Our home base was Kimpton Palomar Hotel at Cityscape in Phoenix. What can I say? This is a top notch place in all aspects. GM Jim Hollister took care of our group from the planning to the very end. Room are very spacious and clean. Room service was perfect and all hotel and restaurant staff were just so cordial and accommodating. All rooms had a beautiful view of downtown Phx.

Blue Hound Restaurant and Bar was super. We had breakfast there both mornings and the Chilaquiles are to die for. I highly recommend them. Bar has awesome selections covering a variety of top shelf liquors as well as a great selection of craft beers.

On the second day after the Pub Crawl, we extended our stay and had a Tamale Festival right outside the Hotel as well as an Arts Festival down the street at a local park. There is so much to do within walking distance and the Palomar made an excellent choice for our home base.

BTW......I did not win the $100 Poker Pot but it was a most memorable experience at the Hotel it didn't matter. Thanks to GM Jim for taking care of our group and there is talk in making this an annual event! Five Stars Plus!!!!!!!!

I've come to expect a fantastic guest experience from Kimpton and this hotel didn't disappoint. In fact, they had some new touches that made me love Kimpton even more.

What we loved:
- Spacious room
- Spa-like bathroom with a large tub (wide enough for two) within a large glass enclosure that contains a shower as well
- Desk space in room had ample, accessible outlets (AC and USB) and the desk height and chair were appropriate so you could type or write in a natural position
- Free hot chocolate bar with real white and milk chocolate shavings during morning coffee service
- Inner Circle in-room amenity was a generous supply of water, cocktail vouchers, cashews and an unexpected and very delicious chocolate creme brulee
- Free access to a standalone full service fitness center next door
- Efficient valet operation
- Accommodating a check-in before noon
- Onsite bar & restaurant had lots of nice details (perfect cubes of ice, nicely presented jars of beverage garnishes, passionate mixologist)
- Location in a mixed use downtown development with plenty to see and do for a couple nights all within a 5 minute walk

This is the only hotel I will even consider staying at next time I'm back in downtown Phoenix.

The Palomar offers guests a dose of center-city life that defies Phoenix's well-earned reputation for relentless, car-dependent sprawl. The hotel is part of a downtown Cityscapes complex that includes a number of decent restaurants, some retail, and a pedestrian experience that is lively and upbeat. It is also directly accessible to the city's new light rail - connecting to Arizona State University's Tempe campus.
The hotel itself has a clean, modern feel, both i the rooms and in public areas. And the rooftop pool and bar are delightful, even in December!

If you are going to a concert or any event at the US Airways Center, this is the place to stay. It's located right across the street (5 min walk). The staff was friendly, the room was roomy, modern and looked as advertise (no surprises). Join In-Touch nice perks, like free Wi-Fi in your room and $10.00 credit to raid the mini bar or have a drink at one of their bars/restaurants. Definitely will stay here again!!!
