I stayed at the Hotel Palomar for one night. I chose it because it was right across the street from the US Air Center (I was attending a concert there).
Check in was great. The front desk was very friendly and the process was fast.
The room and the entire hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable. My room was a nice size. All the amenities were fantastic. At check-in they gave a coupon for $10 worth of anything in the minibar. Never heard of a hotel doing that. It came in handy for the overpriced bottles of water they have there. I would also like to mention that they had an ihome iphone dock AND outlets next to the bed. Thank you smart people who designed that. Plus free Wifi!
Some nice bonuses this hotel had. Free wine happy hour. They even offered a little flatbread appetizer as well. Thought that was a nice tough. Also, my girlfriend forgot her contact solution and they provided a bottle to her complimentary. Outstanding.
I have one tiny complaint about this hotel. The shower does not have a door. It has a glass panel separating it from the rest of the bathroom so water does not come out. And an opening so you can get in and out. I have seen these types of showers and I find them annoying. Aside from a better chance of water getting out to the ground, it is a pain to turn on the water. The only way to turn on the water is to get in and turn it on and have cold water shoot you right in the face or body. There is noway to reach in and turn it on from the side an wait for it to heat up a little. I cant be the only one who feels this way. Its the only blemish in an otherwise fantastic hotel.
Overall, with a fantastic location, very nice rooms, excellent staff, and nice little bonuses, I would totally stay here again when in the Phoenix area.
