“Loved this hotel!”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

We checked into this hotel for one night before our flight back to DC from SW canyon tours. We were in love with our king room the minute we walk in. Decor was very modern and fresh, plus the size of room is pretty big too with a couch to sit on and a table. We went up to the pool area to chill, while the decor and space up in pool area is beautiful, the music was a bit loud and looks like its a happening place in town with many locals hanging out in the pool. Hubby was trying to read - not a good idea!! We went back to the room with our drinks and enjoyed the space instead. All in all, definitely recommend if you are young and looking for some fun place to stay.

Stayed for a one night "staycation" to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Reserved a Skyline Corner Suite for $166 per night. (package that included valet parking for a $27 value) Valet and Bell were friendly and cordial upon arrival. Chris at the front desk was wonderful. Professional, informative and clearly willing to go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Room was ready for 1 p.m. arrival. Two room suite with separate living area, extra wardrobe and desk. Nicely furnished, clean and comfortable without being cluttered. Bathroom is wonderful with deep soaking tub inside of a "wet room." Single vanity was a bit surprising because they had the space for dual but not a deal breaker at all.

After grabbing a bite to eat across the street at City Center, we went up to the pool deck for drinks and sun. No cocktail service available and bartender at Lustre was less than attentive and more interested in whatever was happening on his PDA. It is nice that they do not open the pool to non-guests for "pool parties" but this went too far the other direction. I inquired about a cabana before arrival and they asked for $250 food and beverage minimum. Upon arrival we found them all occupied but none had been reserved or paid for. And with no service poolside, how could they. Service here never improved throughout the day and was our one blemish on a perfect stay.

After leaving the pool area we tried the complimentary reception and it was great. The sangria and flat breads were wonderful and the hosts were fun and engaging. That level of the hotel is beautifully decorated and someplace you would feel like hanging at for hours.

Stopped late night at Blue Hound for a night cap and the bartender Robert was great. They did not carry our favorite tequila and he quickly turned that into a tasting and we stayed for three rounds plus snacks. He knows how to work a bar.

Great night sleep. Quiet, good temperature and dark enough to sleep late. We had apparently missed a call the day before but room service was trying to deliver champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary. They were delivered with a hand written personalized card and were a perfect end to our stay.

This is our new favorite hotel in Downtown and possibly the valley. Location, staff and rooms are all A+. My 4 star here is based solely on the experience at the pool. I am already booking a corporate event here and communicated directly with the GM. Great guy, apologetic about our experience and went over and above to accommodate our event next month. Cannot ask for any more.

Extremely friendly staff and awesome location in the Legends Entertainment District. It is right across the street from U.S. Airways Center and right down the street from Chase Field. Plenty of bars, restaurants, etc. in easy walking distance. Local transit station is right outside hotel and it is an easy drive to Sky Harbor. Palomar does not have a gym but your stay gets you free access to Gold's Gym which is located in CityScape (the same facility as the Palomar). As mentioned the entire staff is friendly - as in genuinely appreciative of your business. I travel to PHX relatively often and this hotel will no doubt be where I stay in the future. I highly recommend Hotel Palomar.

Room Tip: The King Bed Suites with tub are roomy and the stand alone tub inside the giant shower stall is awes...

I spent my Birthday weekend here and had an amazing stay. The room was very roomy the bed comfortable and the staff overly accommodating. The hotel is conveniently located near the lightrail station so you have access to all that's downtown and uptown as well. Believe me there's plenty to do within the hotel as well within its parameter. The pool is very inviting and the wait staff is very accessible if you require food or drinks.
I'm a local and though I don't stay in hotels in town to often I'd definitely return here and suggest it to others within or out of state.

Room Tip: If you really want a view, get a room thats window faces East, South or North. I had a west view and...

I stayed here with friends for a summer staycation. Pool was excellent, room was above average and the amenities were well above average. The complimentary tea/coffee service in the morning was perfect for a hangover! Poolside food and drinks were yummy. Negatives: The Blue Hound restaurant was so so and we had to call maid service twice for extra towels.

Swank sophistication in the heart of downtown Phoenix. The staff here is incredible and each and every one of them understands service with effortless style. This is true from the general manager on down to the valet staff. Our every need was met.The one bedroom suite was the perfect setting for a weekend staycation and is outfitted with modern spa-like amenities. The inventive food and drink choices are not to be missed. This is our second stay at Palomar Cityscape in the past month. We'll be back!

I was in town with ten of my employees for a week for a joint training conference with our office in Phoenix. Not only were the accommodations top notch, but the service was exemplary! After I returned home, one of my employees had failed to get a receipt; within two minutes of my phone call, I had a .pdf copy of the proper receipt in my email. The free happy hour on the second floor was a great way to unwind from a day full of training, and it was easy walking distance to everything. The rooms were wonderful too; they were quiet, well appointed, clean, and comfortable!

I would highly recommend this hotel for business, family, romance, or any activity which brings you to the heart of Phoenix.
