“First Hike”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

I loved it! I didnt make it all the way, but I got up a little over the half mile marker. Take lots of water, and take your time. Everyone on the trail was pleasant and patient.

“Awesome view”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

Went to hike CB with a friend on Memorial day. Went up the Echo Canyon side and with my short legs it was a hike but the challenge was more on the way down. The hike was good exercise and enjoyable overall. I would recommend going up to the top as the views from there are unbelievable....

“Very crowded”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

As a local, I MUCH prefer hiking in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Camelback is always SO crowded. Parking stinks, too. Go to MSP...you won't regret it!

“Most popular hike in Phoenix”
Reviewed September 21, 2012 via mobile

Camelback mountain is very popular hike. And it's no joke! When hiking in AZ, first always have a water source... Ie a camelback pack on ur back!! Camelback is a workout with big rocks, steep handrail guided up hills and great views of Phoenix and Scottsdale. It's a pretty popular hike all week, but much more so on weekends.

“Conquered Camelback”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

My husband and I have done the Cholla Trail several times. Well, part of it anyway. Seems as though we would plan to hike it on days we had other events planned and we never made it to the top, until April '11. It starts off as a dirt trail with some switchbacks and man-made "stairs." Eventually you get to the part where you aren't walking so much as hiking and using your hands to help pull yourself up. The trail is marked with paint once you get near the summit. There is also loose gravel, so hiking footwear is recommended. The views are amazing.
