“Get there early!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2013

We eat here fairly frequently as it is 3 mins from our house. We love the Mexican Picasso Salad (I think that's the name) and the thin crust pizza. We have had a pan pizza on one visit and it was almost inedible it was so saturated on oil and garlic. I love the atmosphere but hate to wait an hour plus for pizza and salad. We always make sure we get there by 4:30pm so we can be seated almost right away. The staff are always friendly and our kids love it.

“Good food, long wait”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

This review is for the Paradise Valley Mall location on Cactus's location. We came here for Sunday dinner with friends. We have been to other locations but wanted to try this one since it was near the house. They had taken over the old Jerry Tucci’s location on the mall ring road. Our friends were in the mall and put their names in so we had a table when we showed up. Otherwise, there would have been a thirty to forty five minute wait just to get in. The parking lot is always crowded, you may want to park across the road in the mall lot. Also, don’t park in the See’s Candies lot. There are warning signs.

We got a table near the kitchen so we could see that they were busy. The location is pretty crowded and the tables close together. We had to watch out when the people across the aisle settled into their seating.

We ordered a deep dish pizza, which takes another fifty minutes although the server gave us a heads up ten minutes before it came out. While we were waiting, we ordered the salad, which everyone liked. Our pizza finally arrived and it was well worth the wait, so five dots. Oregano's is one of the few places in Phoenix serving deep dish pizza. Ours was very good and they did not skimp on the toppings. Everyone enjoyed it but with a 12 inch, the four of us had lots of leftovers. We also saved room for the cookie dessert, also very excellent. We picked half peanut butter and half chocolate chip. Service was excellent but I felt sorry for the servers, since table turnover is slow. I think we were at ours at least two hours. Value was five dots, the servings were large, we had lots of leftovers and the price reasonable. Atmosphere was four dots. It wasn’t too loud but it was crowded. Over all, five dots but the caveat that you will have to spend a lot of time if you come at peak hours which was alright since we were with friends.

“Oregano's is great, but avoid this location. Shea location is much better.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

Stay away from this Oregano's location! I've been eating Oregano's for 15 years; mostly at the Scottsdale & Shea location, but also in Tucson and Flagstaff. I've been to this new Oregano's five times because it's a bit closer than the Scottsdale & Shea location. I've had problems every time. Burnt pizza, under-cooked pizza, long waits picking up pizza, miss matched toppings, impossible to cut, cardboard-like crust etc. I ordered two pan pizzas and one thin crust tonight (3/1/13). I came in at 6 pm to pick up the pizza. They came out and told me the pizza was completely burnt. Before asking whether or not I still wanted it or even showing me the pizza, they apologized and were already cooking new pizzas for us which were ready by 6:30. After complaining that the thin pizza was no longer hot, the staff gave it to us for free. When we began eating the pan pizza we discovered that the two thick pizzas were completely under-cooked, and the thin pizza was cold due to sitting for 30 min while waiting for the thick pizzas.

Because the pan pizza was hot at the time, a few of our guests tried eating the pizza to be polite. Due to the under-cooked crust, it was doughy and disgusting. One guest in particular is now having stomach issues after eating a slice of it. We will NEVER visit this location again. We will gladly drive the extra 20 minutes to the Shea location since we do still love Oregano's. However, we will avoid the PV location like the plague!

“FANTASTIC CHICAGO STYLE PIZZA”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

Ok, you have to wait for it, but if you do, it is worth the wait! The Chicago Pan takes 40 to 45 minutes but it is fantastic!!! Being from south of Chicago, it is hard to find a great Chicago pizza. This is it in Scottsdale. Don't like deep dish, no problem, they have a huge selection of thin crust pizzas that are amazing as well! Service is great, atmosphere is great. If you don't go early, be prepared to wait but it is truly worth it!!!

“This visit not so good.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

We've been to other Oregeno's and thought the pizza was pretty good. This time however, not so good. One pizza had the wrong toppings, and the other pizza had very little toppings and the crust seemed like cardboard. The staff was great, easily willing to try to make it right, but the damage was done. I'm not ready ready to write Oregen's off, as it's been better in the past.
