We were kind skeptical about staying in a hotel so close to downtown but I am so happy we did! The hotel was very clean and the staff was wonderful. My nine year old is a very picky eater and she actually had 2 servings for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Its also in walking distance to many awesome places downtown. Our favorite is the Hard Rock Café! Thank you Marriott Springhill Suites for the great hospitality you all provide for out of towners:)

Room Tip: The 5th floor is wonderful!

We live in the north valley, but my wife had a 2 day national meeting at the Sheraton. Sheraton was booked and over $200/night. So I was looking to burn some Marriott points - looked at the Renaissance which was booked. Then I saw there was a Springhill Suites downtown & under 1 mile from the Sheraton - didn't know it existed.

I'm a Platinum Marriott member, so I stay at all the brands and this one is updated. I like the fact the Springhill has separate rooms with bed, couch & work desk. Mini fridge and microwave in rooms as well. And one more novelty - FREE PARKING!!! Now that is unheard of amongst the other big name hotels downtown where you either pay for valet or you pay to park your own car.

The hotel is not in the middle of downtown - kind of on the outskirt, but within walking distance to Chase Field, US Airways Center, Convention Center, etc... Heritage Square is around the corner and offers some restaurants - Nobuo, Rose & Crown, Pizzeria Bianco.

The room was clean and well thought out. A microwave refrigerator two little tables that allows you eat or work. Nice Desk area.

Breakfast included and parking.

Mold on shower ceiling. New carpet. Fresh paint. Old Bathroom tub and fixtures.

Good Fitness Center, pool okay, small.

Pillows were poor not good at all.

Don't get a room on the street side. If your window is open it is noisy if you have the air conditioner on that is very noisy as well.

Close to downtown convention centers.

Service disabled friendly.

This SpringHill suites must be in between refreshes. The rooms are nice, clean with updated soft products like pillows, covers, etc... but the hard products need an overall. The common areas have the same issue the newer better product but presented in a setting that needs an update.

The staff is friendly and helpful, and were kind enough to suggest locations for a late dinner in the ghost-town that is downtown Phoenix at night -- don't be concerned by the walk towards downtown -- its well lighted.

Internet was awful, they claimed a full house, but you really have to plan for a hotel to be full, otherwise why are you in the the hoteling business?

Next time I will try to stay at a different Marriott property in town.
