From the moment we arrived we have been treated with respect and a smile. I read the reviews about snobbery and the staff being pompous but I think some people just have an ax to grind. And the other bad reviews I read were all about life not a hotel. So you have allergies or you let you kids ransack the place and got booted! What the heck is Marriott supposed to do about that? Comp your entire stay? Yeah, that's what you wanted, right? Anyway....

The facilities are gorgeous, not just "okay" and that is undeniable. The lazy river pool has me more excited to hang out with my girlfriend while our husbands attend the conference than I would be going to DisneyWorld! Excellent service and the food and drinks are flat out yummy! The staff goes out of their way to make you feel special, (professional server who should be tending bar) James Howard Jr and (Manager/Mr. Personality) Josh Scott! These two guys did an excellent job in taking care of a situation I had. The acting GM, Tom (last name ?) assured me that immediate steps were being taken to mitigate any future incidents and really that's all they can do. Again, life! After speaking with him, an extremely articulate and professional individual, I believe that's exactly what'll happen. Training on how to handle equipment and those with disabilities. Yay!!! The shops, decor and holy cow the restaurants are awesome and well staffed, even on a Tuesday! The fusion with nature is breathtaking. Fountains, waterfalls, flowers, music, lighting, art, nature, wow!!! Honestly, we travel about 30 weeks out of the year and this is by far one of the most pleasant stays I've had at any hotel.

Sure things happen but honestly, can you expect any hotel to predict every single scenario? No! Life happens and we are responsible for our own. Emphasize something that should be a training point and then just enjoy your vacation for crimeny sake!

Make the call, reserve your room at this resort and expect the best because that is what you'll get.....

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review for our future travelers. We love that you would choose a day at our lazy river over a day at Disney World – that says a lot! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time spent with us in many areas of the resort and had the pleasure of meeting “Mr. Personality” as you so wonderfully named him - Josh Scott, our Pool Complex and F&B Manager. We did speak with him regarding your situation and we have taken the correct steps to avoid any issues in the future.

It has been our pleasure to have you stay with us and we sincerely hope that we can welcome you back again in the near future!

My wife and I stayed here for a few days and we loved it. The property is very clean and well maintained. While there were a lot of families, everyone was well mannered at the pools. The rooms were very clean with excellent customer service. Also, the area has some of the best restaurants around. From low to high end with everything in between. I would stay here anytime and the lazy river is enough to relax anyone who needs it.

This resort is beautiful with a top notch staff. Everyone gave great service with one exception at the pool. For some reason we had problems receiving service and when we flagged someone down, she lectured us on how part of our service would be bar and part would be her. As a guest, this seemed a little ridiculous. But other than that, everyone else was amazing. As silver members, we were able to use the spa, which has a quiet pool, sauna, and other great options.

We stayed at this resort and I was not impressed. The desk had lots of trouble with check. Not only was it not an easy process, it took forever. We were placed in a room we certainly didn't reserve and had to point out the huge price difference because our room-they randomly downgraded. So, went to the pool to enjoy sun time. Not impressed. We constantly had to order our own food and drinks at the bar. It was far and few between when we actually saw a server. Once we did, they acted like we were bothering them. Yikes. And be prepared, the prices are obnoxious compared to other AZ resorts... Rooms were decent, but not enough to make up for the service.

I recently stayed at the Desert Ridge Resort for a conference. The stay was one of the best I have had in a long time. The location is beautiful, the resort was outstanding and the service in most areas was great.

There are a number of restaurants on-site plus The District, which is a shopping complex with a number of restaurants is a short walk from the resort itself.

Check in was smooth. Staff at the reception area were very professional and pleasant to deal with.

My room looked out over their Botanical garden, the Faldo Golf course and the mountains beyond that.

My only real gripe is the service at the restaurant by the pool (Just a Splash I think it was called) and the bar area (twenty six I think) outside by the fountains were less than acceptable. Every time I went it took forever for a server to come and take my order, they would disappear for 20 + minutes at times and were generally clueless.

I would highly recommend this resort for business or pleasure despite the service issues at the two bar/grill areas.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Botanical garden and every night you'll have some visitors on the...

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time with us! We are however, disappointed on the level of service you received at both Just a Splash and at the outdoor patio area of twenty6. We have passed your comments on to the appropriate Managers to review. We do hope, whether business or pleasure, you are able to come stay with us again soon!

Had a 5 day getaway in January 2014 to take a break from our bitter cold, prolonged winter. First time in Arizona and we loved it! Also could not have picked a better location and resort as this.

Grounds so well kept( always a tell tale sign of Management), beautiful suite, well appointed and housekeeping very good.
We had access to the Griffin Club - a superb executive lounge the like I have not seen before! Staff new our names, eager to please and the physical area very plush and comfortable. The food offered there from breakfast, lunch, afternoon treats, hors d'heuves, and choice of beverages -both alcoholic and non - excellent. Spa area, with it's own pool a lovely, peaceful areal. Main pools very nice with a lazy river.
Service was exceptional which we highly value. It certainly exceeded our expectations and we are returning in October 2014!

Room Tip: Variety of views - we always prefer high floor - all would be very acceptable

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious and accommodations were decorated nicely. Staff were helpful. The spa was one of the best. If you have a spa treatment you have full access to the facilities. This includes a fully equipped gym, classes included are aquafit, yoga, tai chi, spinning, dry and steam sauna and outdoor spa heated pool. Not to mention herbal teas, slippers, robes, snacks and locker service. The spa treatment I had was pampering from start to finish. Prices are very reasonable for what is included and you should look for their monthly discounted specials. The lazy river outdoor and various family style pools are great too with waterfall. There is an outdoor shopping mall across the street (free shuttle) that is very large with lots of variety and good selection of restaurants and fast food places. The outlet shopping and department stores are very far and inconvenient. Lots of conferences taking place, so the environment was busy when we went. If you like spas, would highly recommend.

Room Tip: High level. Face garden.
