My family and I went to the Phoenix are last year for an Easter break. We stayed at the Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. We didn't leave the Resort for four days with one exception, to get more sun screen. Everything there fit our needs, we ate on site, the pool was great during the day and plenty of night life at the Resort to keep us busy. We enjoyed the trip without doubt an plan to return, maybe for another Easter trip.

Room Tip: N/A as we have only stayed at the Resort one time.

We stayed here on Labor Day weekend for a staycation. We had a really good time. We booked the endless summer stay and got $100 resort credit that we used for drinks and food. We were upgraded to a view of the lazy river (we requested this view). The view was beautiful. The room had a balcony with a table and two chairs. With the patio door shut we could not hear any of the pool noise. The rooms have refrigerators, coffee makers. There is a Starbucks on site if you don't like hotel coffee. The room was very nice and we didn't see any of the construction that other reviewers noted. I'm guessing its done now?

We all had a good time in the lazy river and pools, especially our teenage kids. It was really hot out, but not noticeable floating in the water. There are plenty of chaise lounge chairs around the pools. Staff was easy to find if you needed anything. We ordered lunch at the poolside and it was good. The prices were comparable to other resorts, beers $6, mixed drinks $10. They do have a kids menu with decent sized portions. Both of our kids ordered off of it. There is a sign posted that you can't bring in food or drinks not purchased at the resort, but we brought in powerades without a problem. They also have stations throughout the pool areas with pitchers of ice water and cups.

We will definitely be staying here again!

Stayed there in July with another family, kids ranged from 8-11. This was my first time to Phoenix and I really enjoyed it. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed our 4 days there. The resort was beautiful, clean with very nice rooms and views. It was very busy over the weekend as I understand a lot locals will come for the weekend but it didn't affect our stay at all. The Swing and Fling deal was great, the kids ate free and we had a $50 credit a day to spend on meals or spa. The kids loved the lazy river (as did the grownups) as well as a couple of the other 7 pools. The guys enjoyed their free golf (42 degrees didn't dissuade them). My girlfriend and I enjoyed a decadent morning at the spa - I'd go back for that alone. We ate at every restaurant except for Roys. Our only complaint was one of the main restaurants closed for renovations after our first night. Even though it was over 40 degrees during our stay, it wasn't too hard to take spending the day by the pool! We would definitely return to this resort.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the island of Capri. Beautiful and quiet.

We had a nice in town vacation for two nights over the Labor Day weekend, We checked in Saturday at about 1 PM. The check in was crowded, but moved quickly.

We changed after getting to the room and went for lunch. We ate at the Italian restaurant(their casual dining restaurant Blue Agave was closed for remodeling) the food was good, and reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant.

Afterwards we went to the pool which was very crowed. The kids had fun floating down the lazy river. We went to Desert ridge for dinner at Yardhouse.

One of the nice features of this property is the location next to Desert Ridge, a open air shopping mall with many restaurants, and a movie theatre.

The next day the pool was not as crowded. We stayed by the pool and had lunch. Service was prompt and food was OK.

Overall a very good in town vacation for us. Marriott, as usual provided great service.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room get a room on the spa side of the property

We do a lot of staycation with my family, and always end up to be JW @ Desert Ridge. Fun is endless for the kids and yet sophisticated.

Stayed during start of summer break, and the pool is expected to be full, however, because of great span of the the numerous pool, the place doesn't look overcrowded at all.

My husband and I is so bias on the nightly band. Oh it's so awesome just sitting by the patio, kids playing at the grassy area until tired and ready for the night.

Love the breakfast buffet! We have for late breakfast so it serves as brunch. Great selection, great ambiance.

Love the proximity to Desert Ridge mall, kierland, Scottsdale Q.

It's definitely a place we will always be returning to.

Room Tip: Rooms looking at the East is generally quieter and offers a great mountainview.

We stayed at this property at a greatly discounted off-season summer price, but felt disappointed even at that. Definitely would not consider a stay here to be worth the full in-season price. While the room was spacious and clean, it was no better than that at other hotels in the area costing much less. We also found their practice of hitting you with another charge ("resort fee," parking, etc.) to be rather annoying and deceptive of the actual hotel cost. It's a very large property with lots of rooms and noisy hallways... easy to get lost. The grounds are not nearly as attractive as what I would expect for a "upscale"?? hotel-resort. We ate at Roy's restaurant, which is attached to the hotel. It has a great reputation that it failed to live up the night we ate there. Again, definitely not worth the $134 bill for two persons. Most disturbing, only upon checkout were we told that the $100 dining credit included in our "summer special" hotel package excluded Roy's Restaurant!! We complained and asked to speak to the manager, who told us we "should have been told at check-in" that Roy's was excluded from the dining package. We assured her that did not happen, and she begrudgingly gave us the $100 credit. We won't be returning to this property.

Room Tip: Best tip: Get a room at another hotel
