My husband and I were traveling though the Phoenix airport to Mexico, we stayed at the HGI when we arrived and when we left. When we arrived at the hotel it was via the freeway and I could not understand the reviews of the "poor / dicey neighborhood", it looked nice to us, it looked like a business park and another hotel was across the street. The next day we left the hotel and drove away from the freeway on the city streets and we said "ah ha" a few miles away, past the business park, there were a few "Men's Clubs" but it was not scary and I did not feel it effected the hotel neighborhood at all. The hotel is very close to the airport (10 minutes) but you can not hear it at all.
The rooms were nice, we like having the kitchenette and sitting area. The rooms were clean, great beds and nice linens. Both rooms showed a little wear here and there, yes the A/C was a little loud, but we would stay there again in a minute.
The business center was very nice I was able to print out our boarding passed for our flight out. The hotel airport shuttle service was every half hour, we had to leave at 4:30 AM and it was right on time.More
